Purchased the EHX EL84 tubes to replace the factory power tubes (no brand markings on factory tubes) in my Orange OR15 amplifier. Subtle nuances in tone vs the factory tubes, they have a little softer of a clip and don't have dominant frequencies like the factory tubes. Very well balanced tone and frequency response. Would definitely recommend and will purchase for my other amps when it comes time to replace their power tubes.

These tubes shipped and arrived very quickly and were the best price I found in my research. They were packaged well so there would be no way for them to get damaged. They had also been hand tested with the values handwritten on each tube box. I'll definitely be purchasing from this company again.

My stock Mesa tubes were sounding tired and worn with poor harmonics, poor tonal dynamics and lacking bite in Modern Gain mode. I read somewhere that Electro Harmonix tubes have a very gainy sound so I decided to try these. I immediately noticed the nasal mid-range bump sound of the Mesa Mini Rectifier was mostly gone, the bass frequencies were deeper, I could dial more mid-range in and not have it sound like a honk. Treble was crisp and gave a nice sizzle top-end to the gain. Having owned a 100W Dual Rectifier, my Mini Rectifier suddenly had that sound! THIS is the Mesa Boogie sound the Mini Rectifier has been searching for! If you notice none of the amp demos at Mesa are done by metal guys despite their amps being favored by a lot of metal players. Their designs aren't always with metal in mind and I think their choice of stock tubes in a Mini Rectifier don't do it justice. These Electro Harmonix EL84's can give you classic metal a la Judas Priest, Iron Maiden to modern metal a la Lamb of God, Behemoth, etc. and they hold their gain even when pushed really loud! My signal Chain: Gibson Les Paul-> Maxon OD808->Mini Rectifier->Mesa 2x12 vertical closed back cab with V30's.Last note: Front Row Electronics mailed these fragile glass tubes in a padded envelope. Seriously. One star for the packaging. Five stars for the tone and value.
