I was skeptical at first, because BMW doesn'tsell this part on its own and because my car is tuned. I decided to give it a shot and it went on smoothly and does the job at a fraction of the cost of replacing the entire wastegate actuator.Keep in mind, you might still need to buy the wastegate arm clip from BMW. Did what it was supposed to do. The rod fell off due to the cotter pin rusting out. A known issue on BMW, there's even a TSB for it: SI B11 14 17. Not cheap for what it is but cheaper than the dealer option, which only sells the entire wastegate actuator for a rip-off cost of $700. Not sure of the metal type or durability but hoping for the best.
