How to be setting Tach RPM Ratio?

1. Turn on the power supply first.

2. The white line touches the negative pole for 3 seconds to enter the setting speed ratio mode, then adjust speed ratio from 1.0-360 according to your request.

3. After adjustment, the white line leaves the negative pole. After 3 seconds, data is automatically saved.

4. Please note: If your sensor is installed on the flying wheel panel, the RPM ratio is equal to the number of gears of the engine; If the speed signal takes from W-Terminal, the RPM ratio is equal to the half of the number of poles.

5. Normally, When the engine is in idle state, tachometer shows 600-800rpm that means speed ratio is correct. If not, you can turn down or turn up speed ratio to check RPM difference.

Product Introduction

Why Don't get RPM signal?

- Tachometer sometimes cannot get signal by ignition system. So, I suggest Tacho sensor signal. It is more stable.

- I suggest you can buy a Tacho sensor from Eling Parts. ASIN NO. is B07RR8NQ45, B07RN3HJ72.

Don't waste your time or money. Buy anything but this brands gauges. No adjustment keeps the needle pegging to 4k at idle

Good looking gauge. Description states it can get signal from ignition coil to run the tach this is a false statement it does not

The instructions were terrible chinglesh. The said the values to enter to change ratios were 0-360. Yet it also said it recommended either 2-3-4-5-6- and nothing more. I spent an hour trying different settings and the needed jumped around and I thought it was going to work, then it just got stuck on 1100 no matter what ration I tried. I am sending it back.

Still haven’t managed to get it working correctly. Supposedly I can get a signal from coil negative. I have been trying to get assistance on setting it up but all inquiries on google end up at sales pitches on Amazon.

I liked that you can set it to read gear teeth off of a flywheel. I did purchase a smaller sensor than the recommended one to fit my application better

The gauge looks nice mounted in the control panel of my M274 Mechanical Mule. (Magneto fired)So how do I connect it to a signal source ?I thought I could use the alternator for this purpose. If so, what do I need and how do I connect it to the alternator ? (Electric start added to machine)Or should I investigate using the magneto for the signal source - then what would I use for the sensor ?Pennie's fun rideYour guidance please.

In the process of setting the steps I accidentally got into some other menu and added over 400 hours to my brand new hour meter that can't be removed or reset. No idea how I did it as it isn't mentioned in the instructions.Tachometer seems to work well once the steps are set though, so that's something I guess.

I used this on a 16 hp Vanguard in a J93 mini-jeep. I have been looking for a tach of this quality for years and the look and function is excellent. It is easy to calibrate and the red back-lighting when needed really makes it stand out. I had given up on the battery powered tachs that were always going dead and/or giving so many multiple readings that you never really knew the true rpm. This tach fit my needs perfectly.
