MULTI COATED LENS
All Endurance monocular lenses are fully multi-coated to give you sharp, detailed vision and nitrogen-sealed to prevent fogging and misting. Glass prisms are Phase Corrected, BAK-4 Roof Prisms for intense color and contrast.
Eyecups can be adjusted down if you’re wearing eyeglasses and up if you’re not. Both barrels of the binocular move smoothly so you can adjust the vision to your own viewpoint.
Rugged and long-lasting and lightweight, these monoculars have a lightweight magnesium alloy chassis, rubber-coated body for excellent grip and stay-on lens covers for maximum protection.

I bought this monocular for safari and absolutely love it! Superb optics, great quality and value, support a family-run world-leading British brand! Really great clear optics, good field of view, very smooth and easy to focus with one hand which is really important for quick changes of distance. Also for me, I wear glasses or prescription sunglasses so the really good eye relief was really important to me - they are perfect for quick spotting without needing to take glasses on and off, I have a perfect view, and the twist-up eye pieces work well for non-glasses wearers (if you let them have a go!). I found them brilliant for dawn and dusk game drives as well, good in low light too. The viewing compared very favourably with much more expensive nikon binocs. I much prefer a smaller lighter monocular to binocs, and am much more likely to carry it with me. I've had an 8x25 before, also useful and very small - but this 42 has so much better field of view and clarity! I've had a higher zoom monocular - 10-25x42, but it was basically useless, impossible to hold steady enough in the hand - and it, and other 8x25 binoculars, had such poor eye relief that I could not really use them at all, made me realise the eye relief is a vital thing for me to use it with my glasses - at least 15mm and preferably more (this one is perfect at 18mm) . This Hawke monocular is so good I might buy the 10x42 as well! But 8x is probably the best sweet spot for ease of spotting moving wildlife. For me, the supplied lanyard came apart on day 1, but I do not care at all - dropped the monoc on the ground and it is tough enough to be absolutely fine, and I wanted a different lanyard anyway. Made one with a ribbon! So I still give 5 stars, the monocular is outstanding value and quality and that is the important thing.

I have "mono-vision" and my right eye is for close up, while the left is for distance. I was thrilled to find this monocular because the binoculars I've tried using were just not crisp enough to see far away. I'm a photographer, so I'm used to using only one eye. This didn't break the bank and it's very lightweight and effective. Love it!

Not as clear as I had hoped but sufficient for their price. Will use for hunting seasons to come as they are compact enough not to be burdensome to carry.

I have a pair of Cannon 12x image stabilized binoculars. For birding, its field of view is often too small. So I wanted a monocular for wide angle views to supplement the binoculars while hunting for birds. The first monocular I bought was the Maven. It was a nice size to fit in your pocket and had decent (but not great optics). The focus ring on it was so narrow and so tight, it was unpleasant to use (birding you are always adjusting focus). I would say if you had compromised grip strength it was unusable. Anyways sent it back and ordered the Hawke. The views are better chromatic, better spherical, brighter, and it cost $50 less. The focus wheel can be operated with the same hand holding the optic. I've used this now for a couple weeks in various conditions, including rain, dawn, dusk. The optic did not fog, unlike the Cannon binoculars; also very bright even in first light. Anyways, the more I use it the more I like it ... highly recommend it. I should mention it is a little bulky, even so, it fits fine in my pocket. Be sure to have pants with deep pockets, if you want to carry it in your pocket. :)

I bought this for my mom for Mother’s Day. She uses it all the time, and even as she’s becoming more experienced of a bird watcher, she isn’t wanting to get another one.I know you don’t know my mom, but she is very critical, and this speaks volumes about the product.

Nice product. Acid test was looking at stars at night. Very tight points, without much distortion. It beats my Vortex Viper 8x42 binocs for clarity.

Habe mich nach reichlichen Überlegungen und Vergleichen für dieses Produkt in der Ausführung 8 x 42 entschieden.Ich bin absolut zufrieden und es ist zu meinem täglichen Begleiter bei Spaziergängen geworden. Gute Handhabe und ein gestochen scharfe Abbildung. Die achtfache Vergrösserung ist ausreichend z.B. für Vogelbeobachtungen.

I use this mainly as an aid to spot birds for photography. For that purpose, it's perfect. The focus dial is great to use, and thanks to its placement, that can be easily done with one hand. The build quality seems great, the eye relief allows using the monocular easily both with and without glasses. Magnification is not very high but it is plenty enough for spotting and identifying birds or other animals that are not that far but hiding and jumping around in the foliage. I've been carrying it around in my coat pocket a lot, which allowed me to pull it out quickly. The grip is great too.

I was very surprised at the quality of this relatively inexpensive 8X42 monocular this being my first purchase of a Hawke product. Resolution, detail, brightness and lack of distortion across the viewing area is superb, equal to glass of much greater expense. Hawke obviously has an excellent manufacturing operation. You won't be disappointed!
