At time of purchase, the temp sensor claimed it was compatible with my 02 Jeep grand Cherokee, why would I buy it if it wasn’t? Well, after I purchased, it claimed it was no longer compatible. Turns out it is definitely not compatible because my coolant temp gauge is no longer functional. Needless to say I’m kinda pissed, and now must locate one locally so I can regain functionality.

I wish I'd have paid more attention to the reviews. This part is not compatible with a 2008 Jeep. It fits and electrical connector are the same, but doesn't have the right resistance. Like other reviewers noted, it started at half temp and almost immediately went to showing overheating and activating the radiator fan. I do not recommend for and Dodge, Ram, Jeep, or Chrysler vehicle.

This Coolant Temperature Sensor simply is either defective, faulty or simply is not correct for my vehicle. Of course I entered the year make and model of my Jeep and when clicking on the item it clearly read that this item is for my 2010 Jeep Wrangler JK. However, after installation, and starting the engine cold, the temperature gauge read half way between cold and hot. When the engine warmed up to the normal operating temperature, the gauge read hot and then the high temperature warning light came on. When turning the engine off and tried to restart, it would not restart because the computer things the car is overheated. So the only way to start the car was to disconnect the the plug from the new just installed sensor. I went to the Jeep dealer and bought another one from them for $36 and at least it all works normal. This item from Amazon is a waste of money especially for me since I can not return it. Do not buy.
