Your cart is empty. An engine's thermostat regulates the temperature of the engine by controlling coolant flow, its job is to block the flow of coolant to the radiator until the engine has warmed up.
Symptoms of a bad or failing thermostat: high temperature reading and engine overheating; low temperature reading and underheated engine; temperature changing erratically; coolant leaks around thermostat housing or under vehicle.
NOTE: If the thermostat has a jiggle pin, check valve, or other feature to assist in bleeding air from the system in a vertical installation, the jiggle pin should be located at the north or 12 o'clock location.

I thought I was buying a genuine Subaru thermostat. It arrived in a MADE IN CHINA box. It is marked 78 C. I tested it in a pot of water with a thermometer. It did not open at 172.4 F but almost 200 F.

I replaced this along with the radiator at the same time and now the car runs below normal operating temperature. It is winter here but I believe it opens too early and doesn't allow the car to fully warm up.

Works like a thermostat should, I don't know how long it will last just installed it. I had a code before temp under expected temp that didn't come back after installing this..

End it is said it was original Subaru thermostat however when it showed up as a package seen was made in China and it was in just a Ziploc bag that was in not original Subaru bag so I paid for a product that supposed to be the original Subaru part and it was not
