The extensions make it possible for us to dig deeper holes when the job requires them. Our next project is perimeter privacy fencing which will entail 44 4X4 post holes. Based on our recent experience this will be a life saver. Unless your holes are no deeper than your post hole digger accommodates you need these extensions.

The product description says these are 0.31” thickness. They are the same thin-wall thickness as others sold on Amazon. I received these Friday night for a weekend project. I had to use them otherwise I’d send them back and get the thicker-wall extensions sold on Amazon. There are way too many sellers on Amazon giving wrong information without any consequences to their actions.I hope you found this review helpful.

These are too thin to safely use. Buy the thicker versions out there.

Seems sturdy enough. Put all together they come up to 50.5" and you'll lose about 2" when they're mounted to both the auger head and the bit so total extension reach of about 48.5" all together. These fit together easily, which means they're going to have some wobble to them. I don't expect it matters much in use I'd guess.I got these not to auger deeper holes (I generally stick to holes around 2') but, as I get older, to not have to squat down so much to try to muscle the auger after it gets in pretty deep. There isn't much of a clutch on these things and when you hit a root or a rock you're going to be the first to know. That's why I need to brace that head against me while auguring for those sudden stops. Much easier the more upright I can stand.Don't see a thing wrong with these. If you've got an auger head you ought to have these around to help out. Recommended.
