I liked that the lead test for water also included a 2 simple test strips for chlorine and hydrogen sulfide that I could do right at home & see the results immediately.

This is my third water test. The kit is a bit expensive but worth every penny. It comes promptly and the results are very detailed and accurate. Wirecutter rates this as the #1 kit.I used one for my home and one for my kids who bought a new home and need the water tested. Now I'm using a third on my new rental home. The company support is also wonderful. I had a kit that I misplaced and found after a year in a moving box. A quick chat with the representative allayed my concerns and the kit "expire date" was expended so I could use the kit by making a note in the file. Big shout out to Kelly.

We were concerned about possible lead levels in our well water so on the advice of others, I ordered the TapScore Essential Home Water Test. The sampling kit arrived quickly, was well organized, and had clear directions. I collected and mailed back my samples in the pre-paid box and had my comprehensive results in less than 10 days. I wanted some clarification about the testing and emailed Simple Lab. I was surprised and pleased to get a response from Kelly almost immediately, with a clear answer to my question. Overall, this was a very positive and satisfying experience for me.

I was prepared to complete a complex, multi-step process to use this test kit, but based on the price, I expected that the manufacturer would have spent a bit of effort on the user experience. I was disappointed. The first card inside the box tells you to register your test first, before doing anything else. So I tried to do that. The registration process, it turns out, can only be done once you've completed the sampling process. So those instructions were entirely incorrect. Then I moved on to reading the sampling instructions themselves. They *look* nice, nice heavyweight paper and visually pleasing design, but they read like a garbled mess. There are multiple sheets of instructions, some referring to one another, some referring to guides that only seem to be online, so you have to go on a scavenger hunt to find the complete set of information. In the list of return shipping steps, amongst useful steps like "Return all containers and paperwork back into the same box they arrived in." they include imprecise and effectively useless steps like "STAY ORGANIZED!" How does this help anybody? All I wanted was a single sheet with the complete list of steps that I needed to take, and when. It was not present. I will have to build it myself from a list of disjointed bits of info. How difficult would this have been to include? Why skimp on this?I will update this review when I have completed the entire sampling, shipping, and report processing sequence.

When you get the data back it is a bit confusing, because the do not show results based on Federal or State levels, only thier personal preferred levels

I bought this test kit for my family. We just had a baby and I wanted to make sure the bath tap was clean. There were clear and detailed instructions on how to sample.Shockingly I found that we had detections of lead and copper at concerning levels. We also had a variety of other contaminants in the water, but below concerning levels. Of course with a new baby, lead is a really big concern and we need to treat it.I found the report super easy to read. They provided information on the contaminants found, as well as technologies that can help fix the issues so that I can identify at home treatment in an informed way.Definitely plan to test other water taps in the house and figure out a solution!

Not only was it really cool to learn about the invisible things in my water, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much more there is to this product than meets the eye.The digital dashboard and report were very easy to navigate and extremely informative. I didn't expect such an engaging end-result from just a lab test. The water experts on the support team were extremely helpful in helping me understand some of the nuances of my results, especially when it comes to how the water affects my plumbing and treatment. With all the news about chemical spills and the like, Tap Score gave me some valuable peace of mind.

The samples for the test are very easy and straightforward to collect. However, the process for registering the tests and sending in the samples is difficult. There's no way to manage your tests without typing in the URL (they simply want you to buy more tests), and so far their site is down for maintenance and I can't proceed with the test I've collected. I will not buy tests from this company again. There's no ability on the website to activate your test; instead, after creating an account, you're only given options to buy more tests. To activate and manage your purchased test, type in the URL gosimplelab.com/activate.Today their site is down and not responsive, so I can't provide more details on what to do next.
