With a coupon, 50 dollars for a 4.5 inch reflector ? Tripod is just ok, mount is junk, scope tube itself seems to be good, probably find a different mount. Dont expect to much from this scope and you will like it. It is a value in my opinion.. eyepieces are metal and seem decent too..

I got this with a 50% off Amazon coupon so it came out to about $50 with free shipping. For that price, this was an absolute steal. If you expect a $300 telescope, then move along. This is a great beginner scope. You get a functional tripod, a few lenses and a finder scope. This is perfect to give to a young kid and not have to worry about them breaking it!

I know this is almost a year later as we didn't try to use it till the summer but this Telescope is horrible. Impossible to find any object in the sky at night. Followed directions to a tee. NOTHING. The locator mini telescope is useless unless you calibrate it during the day and you HOPE to find an object in the main telescope to even try to calibrate the view finder. Tripod it comes with is cheep and not sturdy. Locking screw on the legs broke first time we used it. $140 wasted money. I'm just pissed we didn't use it right when the kids opened it for Christmas to get my money back!!

Very low quality mount. The handle that moves the telescope up and down broke the first time we used it, and is unusable now. The telescope seemed to be decent, but didn't get much of a chance to actually use it. I understand the affordable price now.

The tripod is trash. It does not lock in place. So once you go through the trouble of finding something to look at and “lock” the knobs it still moves and you lose what you spent so much time trying to find. The red dot viewfinder scope is useless! Maybe if it didn’t wiggle around on its mount you could actually somewhat get in the general direction of what you want to see. This item is a completely useless paperweight and I deeply regret wasting my money on it. I wish I could leave negative stars instead of one!

Loved everything about it, it is a very nice telescope for it's price class. Realize, this is only for looking at the night sky, the image goes through the kind of mirror setup where things look upside down or sideways, this is totally normal, as in space there is no up or down, because each star is on its own axis.

This arrived with scratches and scrapes on it, it won't focus and on of the adjusters to hold the telescope in place will not tighten enough to hold it without it feeling like you are going to break it. Trying to return it- I'll have to pay $50+ for shipping (they will refund up to $20) plus the customs paper work they have sent doesn't work so I have to fill out other forms to send with it. I would have never ordered this if I would have known all this. Don't waste your time or money on this. What a crapoy birthday gift for me to give, I'm embarrassed!
