The item is great quality. Heavy and well made. I did receive the wrong one twice and finally gave up. I ordered the cutter mattock and kept getting the pick. But that's a human error - nothing wrong with the item

Looks solid enough, but I was disappointed that it is NOT made in USA as suggested by the description (see listed country of origin). The 5 lb version is a seriously heavy. The handle is comfortable and well designed. The edge of the mattock blade is a little rough.

This is a high quality railroad pick compared to other brands. The handle is rubber coated and very solid. The metal pick is forged and you can tell it is strong. Unfortunately 5lb mattocks are quite large and heavy, so a 2.5lb version may be more practical. Estwing does not have a 2.5lb version at the moment. If they did it would be a bestseller.
