I recently ordered the eSynic 2.0 Audio Extractor 4k@60HZ HDMI to Optical Audio Adapter for my Bose Solo 15 speaker. I wanted to use the audio optical connection for the best sound quality, especially since my new TV, made in 2024, didn't have an optical audio port. I hoped this adapter would solve my problem. When I first set it up, I couldn't get any sound from my soundbar. I noticed the HDMI cable and the audio optical connection right away, but I didn't pay much attention to the USB power supply. I had no idea it needed power until I started troubleshooting. Thanks to other reviews, I figured out that it needed to be powered on. Once I did that, everything worked perfectly, and the sound quality from my Bose speaker was impeccable.Just a heads-up: this adapter can't be used in the ARC or EARC ports, and it can't be used as an HDMI input connection.

I had no problem setting mine up. I wanted a device to extract audio from an HDMI signal so I could use my new powered speakers, and this did the job perfectly. I didn't have to look at the instructions. I just had to slap on the cables and connect power and the little gizmo worked no problem.Recommended.

I ordered this audio extractor to convert the HDMI output from my Raspberry Pi running Moode Audio to an optical signal that my old Sony receiver (which lacks HDMI inputs) can accept. Initially, I considered getting a HiFiBerry Digi Pro, but it was more expensive and limited to use only with the Raspberry Pi. This extractor turned out to be a much more versatile and cost-effective alternative. The device worked exactly as described. I plugged it into my Raspberry Pi and even powered it directly from the Pi’s USB port, and it functioned flawlessly without any issues. If you are happy with your receiver's DAC and just need a simple HDMI audio passthrough solution, this is an excellent choice. One of the standout features is the inclusion of all necessary cables, such as an HDMI input cable, an optical cable, and a USB-A to USB-C power cable. Having these accessories bundled makes it a great value, especially compared to other extractors that require you to purchase them separately. The device also has a red power LED, and through some sides of the HDMI input, you can see a blue light inside the circuit, which provides a subtle visual indicator of operation.I previously bought a similar HDMI audio extractor from another brand for $15, while this one is listed at $25. The price difference is justified by the inclusion of cables, making it a more convenient and well-packaged deal.Overall, I am very happy with this HDMI to Optical Audio Extractor and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable, plug-and-play solution to extract audio from HDMI sources. It works exactly as expected, requires no complicated setup, and provides great value for money.

As a homeowner with a dedicated home theater setup, I was in need of an optical audio extractor to connect my soundbar to my PS5. After researching various options, I landed on the eSynic 2.0 Audio Extractor, and I'm happy to report that it's been a game-changer for my setup. The device itself is compact and easy to use. Simply plug in your HDMI cable to one end, and connect your optical audio cable to the other end (note: this adapter does not support ARC or eARC, so make sure you understand the limitations before purchasing). The 4K@60Hz compatibility has been a non-issue for me, as my TV and soundbar are both capable of handling that resolution. The real test was connecting it to my PS5, which has multiple audio formats (including SDR/HDR) available. I'm happy to report that the eSynic 2.0 Audio Extractor handles them all with ease, providing crystal-clear audio through my optical connection. One thing to note is that this device does not support using your TV as an HDMI input (ARC/eARC), so if you're looking for a solution that allows you to control your soundbar's volume from your TV remote, this may not be the best option. However, for those of us who simply want to extract high-quality audio from our devices and send it to our soundbars or receivers, this is an excellent choice.Pros:Easy to use and set upCompact designWorks perfectly with PS5 (and other devices that support SDR/HDR formats)Great picture quality (4K@60Hz compatible)Affordable priceCons: Does not support ARC or eARC, so TV cannot be used as HDMI input.

I ordered this so that I could run a optical link for sound only to my soundbar instead of running the HDMI to it because I was having issues hearing some of the shows I watched. Connecting up the adapter was very simple and straightforward. The kit includes 1 HDMI cable and and optical cable, although I didn't actually need with either since I already had them and mine appeared to be of higher quality. I used it to connect my FireTV. At first the sound didn't work but the user manual provided the settings for the FireTV and it worked perfectly after making those changes.

I was going to get a new projector that had an ARC port, but decided to try this first. Super happy with the results and saved me a ton of money. I used this to break out my audio from my fire stick going to my Sonos Beam. Worked perfect and couldn't be happier with the sound!

I used this to split my one hdmi signal two ways - one to my tv, and one to my headphones. Works great. No issues with picture or sound quality. I use it with YouTube TV video, so regular HD for live channels. I'm not running any fancy or super high-res video.I've only had it a couple of days, so I can't speak to the durability, but so far so good. I recommend.
