(4.5 Stars) I purchased the Evans Blaster wires for one of my studio snares in efforts of A/B testing it with a well-known brand (P*res*und). The well-known brand (P*res*und) took the top spot in terms of sound and durability, but these are nothing to sneeze at: a close #2. They are great snare wires! mi aspettavo un cambiamento in meglio sostituendo la mia cordiera pearl. Invece ho fatto il reso. Non cambia praticamente nulla, anzi peggiora le vibrazioni. Dimensioni più larghe della mia cordiera anche se i materiali sembrano di buona qualità. Non ne vale la pena.

I replaced the stock snare wires that came with my Pearl Soundcheck kit with these and the sound difference is incredible! I was able to adjust the tension to where it practically eliminated snare buzz from the toms. Great product!

I've used these snare wires a number of times to replace OEM wires that eventually break on Ludwig and DW drums. They are high quality, easy to install and sound great. However, the last few times I've ordered them here on Amazon, they are shipped in a soft paper package and wound up getting bent and distorted during shipment. The snare needs to be level and evenly spaced so it doesn't touch the head when disengaged or unevenly come into contact when engaged and shipping it in a paper bag is going to result in you receiving a snare that won't work properly and sound terrible.

These have become my favorite snare wires. Initially I didn’t go for these since I thought they were geared towards very loud situations and would lack sensitivity. The opposite is true in my opinion. I find them brighter and more sensitive than the classics or customs and I prefer the mounting straps that come with these which is a bonus. Don’t be scared off from the name/description.

I installed these Blaster wires on a no mileage 6.5 inch PDP Spectrum Maple - Poplar snare drum along with a Remo Sound Control head. I'm still using the DW Chinese reso head it came with because the quality seemed pretty good. I'm still tweeking it but so far sounds really great. With one Drum Dot it sounds really tight with barely any over ring. I think the new Blaster snares really helped in the vastly improved sound.

I'll echo what the others are saying here. I replaced my DW TrueTone wires with these. The PureSounds (20 strand, 14") are slightly longer which makes them more difficult to install. You have to be VERY careful these don't touch the bearing edge. Other than that, they sound great and are half the price of the DW TrueTone wires. They eliminated the excessive buzzing I was getting. I am using these on Ludwig Acrolite, Supraphonic, and Classic Maple Snare Drums. All sound very crisp with no after buzz. Plastic straps were included.

I have heard so much about how great these snare wires are that I decided to give them a try. I had been using the original wires that came with my Ludwig Supraphonic 402 with a clear Diplomat snare side head. I always thought it sounded good but some of the wires were starting to get bent and I was starting to have a hard time getting rid of the weird buzzing sounds I was starting to get. I also was finding the snare wires had to be tightened quite a bit tighter than I liked to eliminate these annoying sounds. I decided to change the snare side reso head and went with an Evans 500 for a beefier sound as they are 5 mils thick and the Diplomats are 3 mil. I decided to change the snare wires too and thought I would try the PureSound Blaster 20 strands because I had heard they were really good. After putting on the new head and wires I was amazed at how good they sounded. I like having the snare wires not too tight but I crank the reso head up pretty tight. It had just the right amount of snare sound without too much buzz and I found that when playing with my band, there was much less sympathetic buzz from the bass guitar and other instruments. I would highly recommend these wires to anyone, they really sound great and are miles ahead of the standard wires that come with the snare drums.I have now put these wires on my other snares and they all sound much better. Love these wires!

This is a excellent Snare Wire, used it to replace an old noisy snare wire that rattled on my old Pearl Snare Drum, quick and easy to replace, came with straps to secure but did not use them as I prefer string. Improved the snare sound by 100%, no more rattle, snare now has a very fat tight crisp sound, well made product that did the trick. Product came with simple clear to read instructions with pictures, if you follow the instructions your strand will work perfect. Great Product at a excellent price.
