Quality drumhead, but I like the power center reverse dot better as it's more responsive. This head is great for back beat playing though.

These have a bit lighter feel than a Remo Reverse Dot but they are a bit more sensitive as well. It plays like an ambassador with a bit more tone control. Easy to tune and great quality from Evans.

The Evans PCRD is my favorite snare head. I use it on a few of my drums including both of my 12 inch snares. I'm an Evans fan and I've tried almost all of the snare batters. I always go back to the PCRD on my 12 and 13 inch drums. It has single ply tone with added attack. Great all around head. Sounds good on any snare drum.

I use this head on almost all of my snare drums, 10", 12", 13" and 14" sizes. To my taste, it has a near-perfect blend of depth and crack, with enough overtones to sound lively. I do muffle it slightly when using mics.Many drummers go for a very dead, dry tone. If that's your sound, this isn't the head for it. But if you like some timbale "ping" near the edge and a focused center strike, you won't be disappointed.

This has been my favorite snare head because I get the great open tones of a single ply with the durability and some of the muting of a double ply. I am a moderately hard hitter using 5b nylon tipped sticks and normal single ply's don't last as long as I'd like. I like the version with the power center on the top instead of underneath. I feel like the tone is better and it wears the power center before wearing the main head.I use this on a pearl Chad Smith snare and it pairs well with a steel shell. I still use one moon gel broken up in four pieces, but that might not be necessary for a maple snare. For slightly more dampening I sometime go with the Evans HD Dry as well.

I always buy Evans heads, I've been playing them for years and years, but I usually only buy the Genera G2 for everything. I took a chance on this 13" Power center head and I am pleasantly surprised on the sound. Rim shots sound great and with a softer tone while the center is loud and produces a great crack. This head is very durable and has lasted me a while now through all the hard hitting shows and practices. Buy it, you'll like it.
