About Everlast:
The name Everlast is synonymous with boxing. Renown internationally as a manufacturer of boxing equipment, Everlast started out as a swimwear manufacturer in 1910. Headquartered in the Bronx, NY, the company was founded by 17-year-old Jacob Golomb. The son of a tailor and an avid swimmer, Jacob Golomb was dissatisfied with the durability of swimsuits because they barely lasted a season, so he began making suits that he guaranteed would last for a full year. He proudly gave them the name, Everlast. Although the swimsuits did not last through the years, the name did.

Over the next years, Golomb expanded his company into a small retail store that carried a full line of sports equipment. In 1917, a young fighter named Jack Dempsey introduced boxing to Golomb and Everlast. Dempsey asked Golomb to construct protective headgear that would last more than 15 rounds of intensive boxing training. Golomb specially designed the training gear for Dempsey. In 1919, Dempsey won the world's heavyweight championship wearing boxing gloves made for him by Golomb. Everlast became the headquarters for boxing equipment throughout the world. In 1925, Golomb designed elastic-waist trunks to replace the leather-belted trunks then worn by boxers. These trunks, now known as boxer trunks, immediately became famous. Jacob Golomb ran the business until he passed away in the early 1950s and his son, Dan, took over. In 1958, Ben Nadorf joined Everlast and purchased 50 percent of the company from the Golomb family. When Dan Golomb passed away in 1995, Nadorf purchased the family's remaining 50 percent interest. Nadorf remained the president and principle share holder of Everlast until Oct. 24, 2000.

Everlast men's and women's apparel and accessories continue today to be tremendously successful both inside and outside the ring. In addition, Everlast boxing trunks and equipment remain the proud and undefeated champion of the boxing industry for more than 90 years. The history continues, as the name states. Everlast has a traditional past and a knockout future.

Delivery was much earlier than expected. (Not called a speedbag for not'n!) The whole set looks fine for beginners training and will hold any level unless you train for hours on end. You might need to use longer screws that go through with bolts from the top side for the metal base of the hook, the ones provided are too short and am not surprised they did not hold for long for another reviewer. The pear provided is plastic but ok. In the photo there were hand wraps which were not included. Points for the collectable leaflet from the 80s.

Despite the box being beat up am torn upon delivery, I received all the hardware and none of the parts were damaged. Assembly was pretty easy though could be done incorrectly if not paying attention. Product is overall what I expected for my home. Swivel has a lot of play so you will have to stuff something behind it to keep it down against the “ball mount”. (I used stuffing like what’s in a teddy bear)Only thing is 1 week into having it the bag is beginning to separate at the seams. Kind of crappy because I don’t have more than 3 hours training on it.

Let me start this by stating that I'm a TBI survivor. Hand/eye coordination and overall balance are definitely not my winning attributes these days. After being introduced to a speedbag just over a month ago, I was instantly sold onto the idea! The speed bag challenges my brain with simple physics. This'll help tremendously, as I'm as "green" as they come.(As I'm fully aware, a review for this specific product is being requested. To put it quite plainly, this is very good quality for the price. As far as ease of installation... I have brain damage, and I had absolutely no issues assembling it myself. 👍)

This is a solid unit that was easy to install and works well. It took a bit to find a spot with sufficient ceiling height to install. (The garage) My wife absolutely loves it. She's been asking forever for one and finally got this one for her 50th Bday. She loves the arm workout and is steadily improving her technique and speed.

this is a great kit to get all the items you need for a speed bag set. there is one bad thing about this set, but there is an easy fix. the swivel shown in the picture is NOT the one included in set. the one included in set is a cheap plastic base, with a plastic ball bearing, and a small metal i hook glued into the bearing, with a small spring clip attached to hang tour bag on. of course that wasn't going to fly so i upgraded to the Everlast Professional Speedbag Swivel and it made things great. the next thing after you get good at it is to upgrade to a smaller bag. the bag included is way to big. after you upgrade these two things its a great set and well worth the money.

At first I was about to surrender, the manufacture on these mass created speed bags platforms are constructed inadequately. Since I couldn't manage to pay for one that is like the one at my fitness center I took an old solid door cut it at 30" instead of the 24" had my father in-law plane the round drum purchased four 4 inch screws, washers and lock washers now with what I had left of the door I cut into 4" x 20" put a piece of carpet on the wall to quiet the sound, bolted the wood on to the studs behind the carpet then continued to erect the platform. I also purchased the everlast professional chain link swivel which I used instead of the "plastic ball and hook swivel". I spent less than an extra thirty five bucks and have a solid, quiet professional looking platform! Which could have cost way more then what i paid!

Great home-based starter speed bag. I may outgrow it, but then again I may not. Really gives me a great workout, and comes with everything you need and then some (jump rope). I attached it to my basement concrete foundation wall by first attaching two 2"x 6" boards to the concrete wall using my Remington Power Hammer, and then attaching the speedbag support bars to the two boards with wood screws I had on hand (not included in kit); recommend pre-drilling the holes. Once installed, it is very sturdy and I expect it will last quite a while. Had to wait a few days for the ball pump to arrive so I could inflate the speed bag.

I bought this to go along with my Everlast 80lb bag and it was the biggest mistake I have ever made. Number one the first and biggest problem is that it doesn't come with the F***** lag bolts that you need to mount the thing to a brick wall. The directions are very poor and automatically assume your mounting it to a wooden wall. I mean really how many people have wood walls in their basement? Number two the speed bag platform is made from particle board, and the swivel is made of 95% plastic. The bag itself comes deflated, and doesn't come with a needle to pump it up. The metal framing is cheap, and doesn't hold together right, The holes to mount it up on the wall on the metal framing are absurdly small 5/16 of an inch. So basically your paying $45 for a set of hand wraps, a jump rope, and bag gloves. I would not buy this unless you want the f*****g thing falling out of the wall and onto your head.
