SITE SELECTION TIPS:

Deer love them. I live in a residential area where deer are quite rare. So I we saw four eating a neighbors lawn I wanted a way to get them to come around more often, meaning more than half a dozen times in 34 years. The day I hung the salt lick I looked out two hours later and there was a deer licking away. I ordered two more. One arrived in pieces. I would have given the full five stars had the supplier packed them better.

We have deer in our yard almost daily. They were not attracted to this product at all even after several applications and used as directed. Plus it was a mess to work with. Will never buy again, waste of time and money.

The deer keep nibbling on it and visiting often. The price is good too. I'll keep getting one when it's gone. Update.. Amazon deliverd them to Nevada instead of sc. Now I don't think I'll get more.

I mix Stump Likker w/minerals as an attractant when creating mineral sites. It smell just like molasses and seems to do a pretty good job of working as an attractant. Once the deer have found the mineral sites, the minerals that have leached into the ground then bring the deer back. I would use Stump Likker again as an attractant to mineral sites. I've not had much luck w/Stump Likker for making attractive mineral (salt, because that's what is really in it) sites out of rotten or decaying stumps. I picked my Stump Likker up for $6 as an Amazon add-on special, which was a good deal. At the current price more than $14 per gallon, it is expensive to do what it does.

Put this on a stump. That was lying down and most of it ran off. I later learned if you pour it on a stump That is up right it will seep into the wood for animals to enjoy longer. Product was great though.
