I put up led Christmas lights and needed a connector to go from the inside to the outside for some of my lights. I wanted something I could mount on the ceiling of my porch and easily plug my lights into when the time comes. In other words, probably not the most common use case. That said, the connector makes good contact. It seats well. It seems pretty water tight though given its location in my case, I should have no reason to truly test that aspect out. For my case though, this works perfectly and I have no complaints.
