This taper is great! It has a little yellow "clasp" that can lock over the blades, which is a helpful safety feature. I loaded packing tape onto it and it works just fine

This is a fantastic tape dispenser that will also do 2 ~3 " tape.Our old unit has a short somewhat banged up handle. The blade is sketchy at best.We replace it with this new Excell unit.Now we can do wider tape for shipping .Very easy to adjust resistance of tape dispensing.Excellent. Super sharp blade with a clever protector so you don't get cut when handling the tape around.Not cheap, but super quality and finish.Very happy with it would recommend to anyone.

The tape dispenser works fine with 2" and 3" rolls .I guess its about the same quality as the Uline heavy duty model and costs the same which is fine.Packaging was simple, all screws are tight and the mechanism to adjust the unroll resistance works.As another reviewer noted, the blade guard has multiple positions and you need to lift it all the way up so it doesn't interfere with your taping job. And the detent to get it into the position requires a bit of force. Ironically, you can cut yourself on the blade when flipping up the guard

I was surprised that no instructions came with this tape dispenser. Only because I have a metal one could I verify that I was threading the tape properly.Plus, I did not know the yellow safety cover flipped up or down, depending on whether you were using it or not. Took me a while to figure that one out.I don’t think the roller on this moves as smoothly as the one on the metal tape dispenser that I’ve had for 25 years or so.Unless you are doing an awful lot of taping of boxes day after day, you might be better off just getting a package of tape that includes those disposable dispensers.

I absolutely love everything about this tape gun! The quality is exceptional and it’s incredibly sturdy and durable. It’s a great value, considering the affordable price tag. Most importantly it’s super easy to use and very comfortable to grip. It’s easy to load the tape and easy to remove empty rolls as well. The blade works flawlessly and I have not had any issues with the tape snagging or shredding. Highly recommend!

This tape dispenser is much larger than I anticipated, but it seems to work well once you get used to it. I send and receive dozens of large boxes per week, and I’ve been rolling tape out by hand for years. While rolling out by hand has worked, its nice to have the proper tool for the job.In the past 30 years I’ve used several different tape dispensers. This one doesn’t stand out from the crowd… it doesn’t feel better, but it doesn’t feel worse. For my first few boxes I was using up 2” tape stock, and it felt much better after swapping to 3” tape.Give it time and it’ll feel natural sooner than later. It’s a solid tape dispenser and I have no doubt it’ll see miles of tape before the year ends.

There is nothing wrong with this Excell tape dispenser. Problem is, there is nothing much to recommend it over the competition. It accommodates 3" tape, but I have always used 2". It has a cutter guard, but I've never been injured for the lack of one. And it is not as if the guard gets out of the way on its own when you're using the dispenser. You have to pop it into and out of position. The adjustable spindle clutch is pretty much standard equipment with this kind of product.As for ease of use, again, it's fine. I will say the cutter is either sharper or better situated than with our old dispenser.And the build seems solid.Then there's the price. Currently at $35, it's as much as twice the price of units having all the same features. This dispenser is a quality product but has only its price to differentiate it from the competition, and not in a good way.

This tape gun is one of the best I have used. It includes a safety guard over the tape cutting blade.It also includes a spring loaded edge that prevents the tape from sticking to itself which is a plus!
