Highly recommend! OE clutch kit for 2001 miata 5 speed. Has everything needed including friction disc, pressure plate, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and alignment tool. Only real issue was alignment tool didn't perfectly line up kit into pilot bearing so my transmission faught going back in, had to drop it and readjust a couple times. Make sure the friction disc is as centered as you can possibly get with the pressure plate fins before torquing down! Also recommend you upgrade your flywheel while in there to the exedy lightweight flywheel, you WON'T regret it!

Incredibly nice product, fitment and operation are excellent. Used on a 1996 1.8 miata and install was perfect. Much nicer than valeo and Luk clutches I've installed in the past.

This is a good quality clutch. One word of advise..don't use the enclosed release bearing or pilot bearing. These are junk and will wear out before the clutch plates do. I advise to splurge and get the Timken bearings. About $40 for the release bearing and $10 for the pilot bearing. Well worth the extra cost. This upgrade will add 50% more life to your clutch.

worked great for my miata. install took roughly a day, 6 beers and a lot of banging and clanging. after we managed to figure out what we were doing it was straight forward and there are no complaints from me. i dropped it into my 1996 1.8l miata and it felt great until it blew the head gasket the next day. great product, great packaging and it arrived 3 days early. definitely buy the timken pilot and throw out bearings though, don’t use the ones it comes with :)

I just got the car running after swapping in this clutch into my 2002 NB Miata. I had a significant amount of clutch shudder before doing the clutch, so I opted to replace the flywheel, instead of grinding it, with an OEM flywheel replacement. Also used OEM bearings instead of the ones provided in the kit so can't comment on those. Initial impressions are very good, extremely happy I decided to replace the clutch and flywheel now rather than later. This clutch feels great and seems to be working very well.

Se rapproche vraiment du comportement d'origine miata 2003, qualité super sauf pour les bearing, ils sont un peu cheap.

I recently bought a stock '97 Mazda Miata. I replaced my 18 year old, 97k mile clutch with this unit, and it performs wonderfully. This is a stock clutch in every sense of the word, and performs exactly like the original Mazda clutch it replaced. Exedy specifies a long break-in period, and it did seem to grab harder and harder as the miles went on. I am now about 3000 miles in, and it performs beautifully. This works easily on the street and runs perfectly on weekend autocross sessions. This clutch should NOT be mistaken for a performance clutch, and if you are making much more power than stock, you should look elsewhere. But for all nearly-stock power figures, this clutch grabs as hard as one could hope for in all situations, including autocross. On a side note: the kit includes brand-new pilot and release bearings, so all you'll need is to resurface or replace your flywheel along with this kit for a full clutch job. Remember to replace your rear main seal while you do it to prevent future oil leaks! All in all, I am extremely happy with this clutch, and will buy it again if and when I ever need another one.

I replaced the one in my Miata after the pilot bearing failed. I figured since I had to tear the whole thing down I might as well replace the clutch too. This is fairly priced and installed without any problems.

I am very happy I purchased this clutch and not the Stage 1 (Exedy 10805). I have a street modified, naturally aspirated, '99 Mazda Miata and sometimes bigger is not better. Since my engine will never go above 200hp, I have no use for anything larger or 'better.' Pedal effort is unchanged compared to the previous clutch before it exploded (long story, ended with a total drivetrain replacement...). Overall, I am very satisfied with the product and would definitely recommend to anyone without forced induction. I installed the clutch myself at home, with ample workspace and no time constraints. After doing so, I saved $800-900 in labor cost alone, and not to mention I purchased the clutch itself for roughly $100, instead of $300 for the local 'dealership OEM' part. I would not recommend installing the clutch by yourself without some SERIOUS tools, jackstands, and assistance; even with the plethora of pictorials and how-to's, it took me 10 hours to successfully replace this part. As for the clutch itself, very impressed by build quality and how responsive it is under stress. I would also like to point out the manufacturer of this specific clutch recommends 750 miles to break in, contrary to what some parts of the internet say. The pieces it comes with are superb, and that little alignment tool is a heaven-sent precision instrument.PROS:All pieces needed are includedExact, precision fitMuch cheaper than local dealer (~$100 compared to ~$300)Very responsiveBuild quality is impressiveHas increased torque capacity than original clutch(Hopefully will not explode)CONS:Break-in period can be frustrating to drive (but this can be said of all new clutches [I also do not have a stock Miata])(No other cons that can be attributed to the clutch itself)Conclusion:This is an excellent kit by EXEDY and I will most certainly buy more from them, should the need arise. The form, fit, and feel, are spot-on. I would recommend this to any naturally aspirated car needing a replacement, not an upgrade. I hope this helps someone. Safe driving! And remember: 750 miles to break-in (It cannot be stressed enough)!
