This kind of product is useful on inboard/outboard boats. Winterizing an inboard engine can be time consuming. They do have "anti-freeze" ports (or many do) that are capped. If and when the water remaining in the engine goes to freeze, these caps may pop off and save the engine from a cracked block.Problem is, those ports can be extremely hard to reach. Plugs like this come in handy. They may not take a lot of pressure, but then again, there's not a lot in the lake-water cooled engines like this. I've been using these to seal a couple of such ports and they're working well.There are all kinds of other applications for these expanding plugs.
