The Extreme Max Deluxe Flip-Up Dock Ladder is truly the premier dock ladder on today’s market. Constructed from high quality aluminum with stainless steel hardware, this ladder is designed to withstand any element a marine environment can dish out. When not in use, flip the ladder to the upright position to help stop damage and lake scum buildup. When upright, two locking pins hold the ladder securely out of the water until its next use. The ladder’s 18" wide x 5.5" deep steps and 20° angle are comfortable on your feet and body, while the oversized top step (18" wide x 11" deep when folded down) delivers a sturdy platform for entering and exiting the water. Intended for use in freshwater applications; oxidation may occur in brackish and saltwater. The Deluxe Flip-Up Ladder is available in 4-Step (3005.4116), 5-Step (3005.4119), and 6-Step (3005.4122) versions. Due to the wide variety of surfaces to which the ladder may be mounted, mounting hardware is not included. Ladder contains four mounting holes requiring 3/8" or 10 mm hardware.

Works great but I had to modify as; for the life of me, can't understand why the retaining pins are located at the bottom... I tried it, made zero sense, so I relocated the retaining pins to the top part of the stairs... now it works great!

We are getting older and climbing back into our houseboat was difficult with our straight ladder. We saw this and it is wonderful. Was easy to assemble and install. Directions are super easy to use. I will say that you have to assemble it in its entirety before mounting to your houseboat. I thought it might be easier to do that way, it’s not. Once assembled it bolted right down and is super sturdy. The one thing I am not a fan of is the location of the pins that hold the ladder up when not in use. It’s pretty difficult to reach them and I am using a Velcro wrap to make it easier for us. We waited way to king to buy a ladder like this. It’s worth the money.

At $446.16, this thing should sing a sonata. The design is good, the execution leaves a lot to be desired. If you don't have machinist's Skills, Don't Purchase this Ladder. To get the upper portion of the ladder (the top step and the two hand rails) to fit together properly, you will need to carefully grind through portions of the aluminum solder to get the three parts to fit together solidly and square. That will require a grinder. To assemble the ladder, you will need to further grind the welds because while the manufacturer has begun the process, they were sloppy and the six steps will not fit to the side rails without additional fine tuning with a grinder. If you don't perform these adjustments the ladder will not sit square in the frame and will not successfully tilt upwards. The ladder comes with eight washers for the ladder swing joint, but the instructions only show the locations for six. The last two need to go directly under the heads of the two 4" hinge bolts. Amazon in its wisdom shows a "buyers frequently purchase this" which appears to be the four nuts & 4 bolts and two plates to attach the ladder to the dock. They aren't, they are tiny little bolts that have NOTHING to do with the ladder. I had to return mine. Finally, the ladder came with parts missing. I had to contact the company to have them send me the missing parts. I sent them my Amazon order number but that wasn't sufficient "proof of purchase." More time wasted. Folks, for $446.16, this thing should have sung a sonata. It didn't. After eight hours of careful adjustment work, purchase of attachment bolts, assembly and installation, dealing with their anal customer service, it's in. It works great, and I hope it provides years of service. But dang... the company sure could have delivered a higher degree of quality of manufacture rather than having clearly cute corners to save themselves pennies. In the end they didn't, had to send out parts, and made this customer unhappy.

It was not too difficult to build this Dock ladder but you have to build them. I felt like it was well thought out and there are drains for almost every possible way to trap water in the frame. I will say that the Screw Heads of the steps tend to catch on the hand rails when it is being folded up but I choose to overlook this as an issue as it may just be because of the way I had to install it on my dock. The step width, angle and added depth make it some much easier to get out of the water.I did have an initial issue with the lock nut on one side of the folding pivot falling off and lost in the water even though it was installed correctly but the vendor quickly sent me a replacement hardware kit and I have replace the lost nut and washer with no issue since and I have additional spares now just in case!

Very happy with this purchase. Took a while to get it but I got it as promised! We love that they flip out of the water when not in use and it is easy to pull them up. Only complaint was that the wire on the pin broke after the first week and went into the water to lock the stairs in place but we just replaced it with a stronger ring. I recommend these stairs to anyone looking for some😊 Don’t forget to buy your own mounting hardware!

Very sturdy, simple to assemble and install, and the tread width was what just what we were looking for. Basically a five-inch wide tread, super comfortable on the feet, especially for my wife who badly broke her foot (three plates and 23 screws) two winters ago.

This product worked perfectly for my needs. It’s angled enough that my 3-year-old can walk down it like she’s walking down stairs. It folds up nicely and neatly out of the water. It’s easy to put together and lightweight. Some reviews almost talked me out of buying this but I’m glad I did. Some people complained that the holes for the pins did not line up. The pins are important because they hold the ladder in place when it’s folded up. Now that I’ve put it together, I know what is happening to come buyers. They are over-tightening the bolts that hold the hinging part of the ladder together. If you tighten these bolts too much, there isn’t enough play in the rotating part of the ladder and it’s difficult to slide the pin through. The bolts remain tight and secure, even when they are not cranked down to the maximum amount. So if you buy this, don’t crank them down as hard as you can. Or keep tightening them until it’s difficult to put the pins through and then back then out slightly. The instructions really should tell people to be careful not to over-tighten those hinge bolts. The ladder is made of aluminum, which is the best material for saltwater. It won’t rust or corrode. I sprayed some boeshield T-9 around the screws just to be safe. The hardware might be stainless steel or some other metal. And I used stainless screws to mount to the dock. The ladder is also light, so it’s easy to pull up when you’re done using it. Aluminum is also a little bit flimsier than other, stronger metals. But once you bolt it down to your dock, it feels very sturdy. I weigh 200 lbs and it was rock solid for me.I’m so glad I found this product. I was considering buying something that costs multiples more and this thing is perfect.
