Best solution for a new age problem. in the older days we had springs to keep the hood propped up. today we have gas assisted lift supports, and they are very erratic at best. Had a upper panel smack me in the back of the head on a cool day. this will help prevent the issue.The small adjustments will help keep it a perfect fit for all areas where lift supports are used.

Was very surprised about how good of a product this is. The locks seem to be nice and tight. Would have like to see the lock buttons made of metal instead of plastic but the plastic seems to be a good quality. The ends have really soft rubber on them and grab hoods/lift gates really well. Not worried about it slipping at all. Being soft they might ware out quick but for now super happy with it. Down side it is a little large for some situations but still very good. Don't wast your time on the cheap ones and buy this.

Not a bad product. It has its uses but I don’t completely trust it on anything but aluminum hoods or light trunks. The og style telescoping prop is superior in strength and precise adjustability but I broke mine not too long ago and decide to give this a shot. Despite this review I’m glad I bought it and use it frequently but I still need to buy another og style prop.

Car companies got cheap a few years ago and started using pneumatic gas cartridges to keep the hood open instead of a good old fashioned hinge. When they wear out it's someplace in the range of two hundred dollars to replace them and at least with some vehicles requires some special tools to do it. I suppose if you're lucky enough to have mechanic skills you'll just replace the cartridges but if you don't have that skill this is a much cheaper way to deal with the issue for sure. I can think of several applications for this tool besides holding the hood open of many items from the lawn mower to the vehicle. It's simple enough, plastic buttons that you press to allow it to be expanded and contracted and the tool has holes in it along with spring loaded metal bits that extend through the holes and lock in. Each end of the tool has a fairly sturdy rubber bit to help hold it in place. This unit expands quite a bit and it seems like that extra long mode might be designed for professional vehicles with a different method of access than the typical passenger car. Does what I need it to do on my old truck that's just kept around for emergencies it's not worth putting all that money into fixing the hood lifts. Just recently used this for about two weeks straight while using a battery maintainer no problems even in the slightly gusty winds we had for a day or two.

The extension is crisp and very secure at all the different locking points. The ends are very soft and grip VERY well. They're also non-marking which is a great addition. This is the one you want to own.
