I have to say I haven't used this on actual ice, like an ice storm would leave, only sometimes very heavy frost like what normally appears on vehicles overnight. This thing scrapes that off in a single pass, leaving the windshield clear of anything at all. Start at the top, work down, and in seconds half the windshield looks nearly as clear as if the car where inside. It scrapes better than the old Student ID card, has a handle, and doesn't compromise your ability to get to class if it breaks. Where's the down side?

These things are hard to find, and for some reason it took me two years to think of checking Amazon after my last one died. These work great for frost, thin ice (think melted snow after you shut the car off); not-so-great for thick (1/4" or more) ice that will sometimes build up in corners.The handle design is a bit lacking: it will slip out of your hand once in a while. If you tie a loop of paracord or similar to the handle and slide your hand through it, this stops being a problem.I generally lose or break them after a year or two, so I should probably order more soon!

Hopefully you can tell from the photo, but the scraper I received wasn't even assembled properly, and the blade would likely scratch the dickens out of my windshield were I to try and use it. This isn't used, this is how it looks out of the box!I know I took a risk buying something cheap, but like... someone had to physically assemble this, know it was wrong, and put it in a box anyway. That's kinda mindblowing!

Throw away you cheap plastic doo-dads. They don't compare. Brass, while harder than ice, isn't as hard as your windshield, so this thing is perfectly safe for ridding the world, and more specifically your windshield, of the annoyance that mother nature put on your glass to try to get you to call in for the day. This scraper is a little thin in the handle, and I fully expect it will break in the near future, but the functionality is spot on. A little more plastic in the handle and this thing gets five stars. Even recommended for the Starman's car orbiting the solar system!

Love this scraper, I had one for years and lost it. I was glad when I found the exact same one and so reasonable priced so I bought 2 just in case. Crazy that this cheap little scraper can do such a great job buy it really does it.

What can I say about this item? It is fantastic. It is so easy to use and intuitive that I didn't bother to look for a YouTube video to explain how to use it. I didn't even have to refer to a manual. It simply works like you would expect it to work. When there is ice on my windshield, I open up my glove box, grab the scraper and go to work. The scraper has never let me down. It scrapes away the thickest of ice with no issues. I highly recommend this ice scraper.
