I was putting this on my 2021 Kia sportage for future oil changes. I was attempting to torque it down to the manufacturer’s torque spec (30ftlb) and it snapped. I bought a Fumoto oil drain valve in the past on my old car and it worked great. I decided to try and save a couple dollars on this one and regretted it immediately.

I ordered this quick oil drain valve after seeing a similar product that my son purchased for his pickup truck. One of the most frustrating aspects of changing oil is removing the drain plug, which typically results in a mess and the need for cleanup. This product allows for a cleaner oil change without the need for tools.Before ordering, verify that this product is compatible with your vehicle's oil pan drain plug threads to avoid damaging the oil pan. If the thread size is not mentioned in your vehicle's manual, contact your local dealer for clarification.After installing the drain valve, warming the engine to improve oil flow when draining is best. Because the opening of the oil drain valve is not as large as the original drain plug, warmer oil flows out more effectively. Additionally, allow enough time for the oil to drain completely; I usually start draining the oil immediately before proceeding to other maintenance tasks. I recommend allowing at least 20 minutes for a thorough drain.Overall, I am very satisfied with this product. However, I am concerned about the plastic clip that holds the valve closed; over time, it may become brittle and break. It would be helpful if the manufacturer provided extra clips as backups. Otherwise, this is an excellent product.
