First shipment was the correct image on the box with the wrong pump inside. Had to return and re-order. 2nd was as expected. So far pumping strong and no overheating issues.

My old pump was leaking water through the back, so I ordered this one. Was identical match for the OEM pump, but I assumed it was ready to install. It wasn't. Instead, the the pump came with the impeller mounted with the splines pointed the wrong way. In other words, it is set up to turn counterclockwise on a GM base engine, when it should be turning clockwise (viewed from the front). Impellers sometimes flip to the correct orientation on their own due to friction and heat when the impeller is turning, but mine didn't before the engine overheated. Pulling the impeller and reversing the splines for correct orientation fixed the problem. So make sure to check the orientation before tyou install it. Other than that, it looks almost identical to the Volvo OEM pump, except for color. Hoping the seals and bearing hold up for a couple years in the salt water.

This is a very nice direct replacement for the raw water pump on our Supra with Indmar Assault 325. Our boat still had the original pump on it and was beginning to show signs of wear. This pump installed very easily and has been working perfectly for over 25 tach hours this season. We kept the old pump and a rebuild kit as spares but so far this has been trouble free.

I thought it would be a huge pile at this price but it really isn't too bad. Turns out the pump we were replacing was the exact same one and had been working on the boat for years. It was leaking a little but still working fine.

Finally found a pump that actually works and primes for my twin 350 Volvo boat. I have tried a few other brands that did not prime. There are several design points that set this apart. The drive shaft is at the proper height so that the shaft seals, but doesent bind on the impeller. The fit between the impeller and the shaft is lose, which is extremely important for these Volvo pumps to work properly as the impeller needs to be able to float to its “happy place” to balance forces and actually seal. The housings are properly made with a center rail to keep the impeller from distorting. The housing has barbs do the hoses don’t blow off. The pulley has proper clearance on the back side to clear the crankshaft nut. The only strange thing is that the pump I received appeared to have a brass alloy cast pulley which looks yellow instead of silver like in the picture. No problem there as long as the design doesent change! Thanks for getting me back on the water!

The pumps are junk! the first one failed in just couple hours, putting rubber all in the water system. After lot of flushing I order another, my fault for thinking it was a just one faulty pump. the next one failed even faster, boat got hot this time and caused motor damage. Took the water pump a part and it looked like new. I then found the rubber was turning on the brass shaft and was not turning the impeller. After checking the first one I found the same thing had happen to it. The brass shaft it should have been attached to had spun in side the rubber impeller causing it to come apart from the inside. I can not find anyway to contact the company that makes this junk and lets face it Amazon will sell anything to make money.
