I didn't find that this sounds much like a pheasant. Watched a few youtube videos as I realize there is a technique... but have yet to make anything come out pheasant-like.

Bought this along with another call from Haydel's (direct from them). The Faulks call requires just the right amount of backpressure to make it sound correct....it takes the perfect amount of air volume along with just the right backpressure otherwise it sound terrible...more like a bad squawk or honk vs that raspy pheasant sound. Overall, its very finicky. On the other hand...the Haydel's call is super easy to make sound perfect and even when you mess up a bit it still sounds much better. I will be taking the Haydels with me and leaving the Faulks in the truck as strictly a backup.

I had one when I was a child about 12 or 13 years old. I'm 56 now and I tried it out and was still able to call the pheasant up to answer me. It's a good call.

Not bad. Have had a few birds squak back at me during hunting.

this call lacks the tone of the rooster , I can make better calls by mouth than this makes , and i have called roosters by mouth before , don't waste your money

Probably my own inexperience, but I thought I would be able to reproduce the sound of a pheasant better...
