These end mills are dull. Really dull. Don't even try side-milling. If you drag your finger across it doesn't even feel like they attempted to give these an edge. They're a bit better at the end, but still no one would mistake the end as being sharp.Even with very gentle use they snap pretty much immediately when cutting aluminum. I can't be consistent enough on a hand mill to prevent these from snapping, but my CNC mill can be programmed to go slow enough that they don't break immediately. But even with the CNC they more "smear" the material rather than cut it.I dunno. Might be good for styrofoam or balsa wood or something.

I use this to cut baltic birch plywood with very good results, despite the fact they are up cut, I get very little blowout. Baltic birch kills the cutting edge pretty quick but this is to be expected on a hardwood. These would be excellent for small jobs in mdf given the low cost and disposable nature.
