There’s a reason you’re wondering if it’s worth paying an extra 20 bucks for these gaskets. It’s because every other set you have tried leaks.These actually work. No leaks.They are also the manufacturer (AFR) recommended gaskets for AFR 195 cc eliminator heads. Need I say more?

These fit my 74 corvette with a L82 350 perfectly. Much thicker than the old cork ones that were on there. Much more rigid too, making the install easy. No leaks yet.

These gaskets worked well with the Trans-Dapt #6602 tall aluminum valve covers I installed on my Chevy Small block with Edelbrock C3BX intake manifold. The valve covers were making slight contact with the intake manifold with standard gaskets so I used these extra thick (5/16 in) gaskets to move the valve covers out a bit more. The gaskets have a steel core so they keep their shape during installation. The gaskets sealed well and provided the extra clearance I needed between the valve covers and the intake manifold.

For those like me that's been changing valve cover gasket on a SBC 350 with no end in sight, this is the end, no need in trying different band. Finally something that works

Decades of fighting valve cover leaks, gaskets getting squished, deformity inward or outward... Leak leak leak...These are layered with a flat strip of metal in the center. The metal holds the gasket in place and stops it from deformity in or out.I used quick tack gasket adhesive to seal them to the (cleaned) covers. Let dry.. When installing do not tighten the posts/bolts too tight. All that's required is to slightly compress the gasket to ensure firm contact with the head all the way around.Well worth the money!

As other reviewers have stated, these are excessively thick. Make sure and buy longer valve cover gasket bolts before you try to install these.

Laugh at the post that its too expensive, nobody forced you to buy it. Excellent gaskets and worth the money if you need the extra space.

This Fel-Pro 1604 Valve Cover Set for Small Block Chevy is a quality item with an internal steel shim so the gasket holds shape and extra thick gasket material to really seal things up. Fit was perfect, no gasket sealer or cement used. Make sure you have quality valve covers that are straight and these gaskets won't let you down.
