Decided to replace the pulley and bearings on our ten year old evaporative cooler when the blower motor expired. With record beating heat and living in an area of low humidity, "swamp" coolers work really well for us. We have it ducted into every upstairs room in our house, so we replaced the 1/2 horsepower motor with a 3/4 HP motor, and the 11" metal pulley with a 10.25" for a little more speed. It has exceeded our expectations. Even in triple digit heat the low speed setting keeps the house in the seventies. Previously, we would see the high 90's outside and the low 80's inside. The increased speed (the motor rpm is the same) with the smaller pulley and a little higher volume pump has made all the difference. It was also easier to find a smaller pulley for the fan than a larger one for the motor, which also would have resulted in more fan speed. Was impressed with how true the Fenner pulley was and the fit on the 1" shaft was perfect.

Just what I needed for the speed reduction on my spryer rig. I wasn’t expecting plastic but that is ok in this wet application. Probably good in a swamp cooler as well.
