Festool FS Guide Rails are available in eight different lengths from 32 inches to 197 inches (800 - 5000 mm), providing the right length for straight, splinterfree cutting in just about any application. The integrated splinterguard is a critical guide rail system component, and after some time and heavy use, will need to be replaced. Replace your splinterguard as needed to ensure perfect alignment of your guide rail to the cut line, and to protect against tear out, on cuts both with the grain and across. Though you should expect many cuts from your original splinterguard, its life expectancy is heavily dependent on your application. Keep your cuts perfectly splinterfree by periodically replacing your splinterguard, especially if you are switching between blades, or using the guide rail with more than one saw. Clear splinterguard enhances visibility of cut line. Includes one 55in (1400mm) Clear Splinterguard.

This is a case of just buy the more expensive better quality the first time. I bought a guide rail from a aftermarket company to save some money and the rail its self is good but the guard was not and started pealing off shortly after use. if I had just bought the Festool rail the first place I am sure wouldn't have had to replace the guard so soon. So in this case price = quality.

It's a genuine Festool product and it works as it should on the Festool saw guides. After years of use I needed to replace the splinterguards on my Festool tracks and these were perfect. Be sure to clean the area where the splinterguards are applied and they will adhere very well.

Habe viel zu lange gewartet, bevor ich den Splitterschutz an meiner Führungsschiene ersetzt habe. Austausch war easy - alten Splitterschutz abziehen, Klebereste abkratzen (ich habe ein Cuttermesser verwendet), Klebestelle mit Alkohol reinigen, neuen Splitterschutz aufkleben - die Schiene hat eine Anschlagkante dadurch ist das aufkleben ganz einfach. Enden Kürzen (sollten 1mm kürzer sein als die Aluschine, damit sich das Kunststoffband bein hinstellen nicht löst). Den vorderen Überstand habe ich mit dem ersten "echten" Schnitt abgesägt. Jetzt ist meine Schiene wie neu! Festool Qualität halt. Schwierig was besseres zu finden.

My older splinter guard needed to be replaced. This was a perfect fit and I followed all the steps for installation. I didn't have any issues with it staying on the guide.

E' un indispensabile ricambio per sostituire la protezione originale del binario guida Festool; può essere considerato un po' costoso (e forse lo è), ma è ben vero che mediamente va sostituito solo ogni molti anni (i miei binari, di prima generazione, risalgono a vent'anni fa, e questa è la seconda sostituzione della protezione antischeggia, che li ha resi di fatto come nuovi). Per inciso, a mio avviso si tratta del miglior sistema di guida per seghe circolari e fresatrici manuali nonché seghetti alternativi, negli anni imitato più o meno efficacementeda diversi produttori, e questa protezione ne è parte imprescindibile, dato che viene "tagliata" dopo la prima posa in modo da riportare fedelmente l'effettiva linea di taglio della sega, consentendo così l'elevatissima precisione che è un po' uno dei marchi di fabbrica del sistema Festool.

Both my guide rails got cooked in storage over the summer and the adhesive on the splinter-guard strips let go (no one's' fault but my on that one). The replacement was easy install; I just rolled it out into place, pressed in down firmly and I was ready to trim it with the saw. Remove the old strip and cleaning off the old adhesive took longer than the install.As with all Festool items, the replacement strip works very, very well. As with all Festool accessories, they are very overpriced - which is my only gripe with Festool. A few months from now I'll forget about the pricing and be glad my guide rails are back at zero-clearance again.

As usual, this is a good product sold at an excessive price.This is a consumable which is essential for the Festool product and is an unavoidable necessity, but the price is unnecessarily excessive and leaves a bad taste in the consumer's mouth which diminishes the true value of the product.The item ships well packaged and well protected and can be purchased with some confidence.The application of the product is self explanatory and it is difficult to get it wrong. The strip fits perfectly every time and is THANKFULLY able to last quite long if properly cared for because this stuff is NOT cheap!
