Fibracell material is a sophisticated composite of aerospace materials designed to precisely duplicate the way Nature constructs reed cane. Very stiff but sound absorbing Aramid fibers are suspended in a light weight resin formulation.

These reeds are some of the best I've ever played. I bought #4 this time to get a better tone. They're harder to play but I get a richer tone.

These reeds are so much better than cane reeds. I used to buy a box of cane reeds, and half of them were not good reeds. The Fibracell reeds are always good all the time. You don't have to premoisten and they last a long time.

This is one of the best investments I've made in my time playing saxophone over a decade. These reeds are so, so responsive compared to cane reeds. The volume you become capable of is incredible, and you really can still maintain a good tone. I play the size 4 on my tenor in my concert wind ensemble with zero issue. I tried going back to a cane reed and it was amazing how much less responsive they are than the Fibracells. Ordering more today as a backup. My first ones have lasted 11 months of regular play! These are just backups.

These reeds tended to run quite soft. I normally play on a 2.5 VanDoren w/Jody Jazz DVNY 7. It took a fibracell #4 to get to that strength. That being said, the reed is great. It is responsive albeit a little bright. Not a lot bright just a little bright. I don't remember them being so soft in years past. Just be aware.

This reed is amazing and plays instantly without having to wet it first. It also lasts way longer than any other reed I have used in my experience. The reed is definitely worth the price and especially helpful in a marching band setting where quick set up along with loud, clear notes is important.

Not very impressed. Diminished range and vibrato abilities as well as a very unnatural and flimsy feel. Never seems to be in the right position no matter how much I adjust it. I was incredibly disappointed by how flimsy it was. The reed felt as least 1.5 hardness levels softer than indicated. Not ideal for an intermediate-advanced player in the slightest. The director of my university marching and pep band actually came up to me after the first practice I used it and asked if something was wrong with myself or my saxophone. Besides completely embarassing me, this only validated my concerns of it hindering my ability. Using a 4c mouthpiece, along with a flawless 3,000 dollar sax assures me that it was the reed hurting me. Stick to bamboo, or find another option for synthetic. Not at all impressed.

I like the fibracell for a synthetic reed over other more expensive reeds

Tone on reed is not good. But it is very durable so it works for marching band. Hey its marching band no one sounds good.
