So I acquired an old HON file cabinet for my office, and of course, it was missing the key. This was a perfect replacement for the HON cabinet. The removal of the old lock was pretty straight forward: remove the top drawer, remove the arm that attaches the lock to the locking arm, remove the lock washer that holds the lock into the cabinet, then remove lock. This lock slides right into the fitting, and reverse the instructions - then the lock is perfectly in place.I have tested locking and unlocking the cabinet - it works smoothly, just like the original. Fits and appears just like the original, just shinier.

I use this to replace an existing lock on a hon cabinet that the key was lost. It worked well and the lock does the job. I don't think it is high quality original but I mean how often do you lock it in log cabin it's like this. To install you need to bend the bottom clip to lock it in.
