Carbide surface protects your guide while sanding. Each plate is 3-5/8" x 3/4" x 7/16". Comes with two 3/16" diameter guide pins, and two Allen head bolts. Made in the USA!

Not wanting to spring for the cost of a cabon guide I’ve had and have been using a non carbon guide for a while. All I can say is “ wow “ what a difference this makes. Filed down to the carbon and not a scratch on it. Should’ve got one along time ago. Love it.

This file guide is very heavy duty and precision made. As most knifemakers I tried the homemade route with the typical so so results. I purchased this guide and was impressed with the workmanship. I have used it on several knives up to a 2in wide Bowie that fit with room to spare. Plunge lines were perfectly even. No comparison to a homade guide. The carbide inserts are unscathed on show zero wear. Old adage buy one cry once. I feel this beast will last for years.

Used this now on a dozen grinds and it works flawlessly. High precision construction- easy to use and perfect aligned grinds. Should have purchased long ago.

I was really into making a set myself until reading how difficult it really is to have a proper fit and finish and then add the carbide into the guide and you have something that is likely going to take longer to get done and done right than it costs to simply buy these.Fit and finish is great. I will definitely buy these again if ever needed, but these are likely to last a very long time.

This file guide is very well built and sturdy. It may be more expensive than other options, but I think it is well worth it.

I made four shop-made copies of this with my Grizzly g0704, and they were all flawed. This stupid thing looks really simple, but everything has to be just right for it to function well. My copies worked, but they had subtle problems. I got frustrated with my lousy shop copies and finally spent the money on the real one. It was ludicrously expensive in my opinion, but you only have to stab yourself in the wallet once in a lifetime. I'll never have to buy another one, and this jig works beautifully. Plus it has the carbide inserts.The first knife I ground with this jig has plunge lines so good I had 37 gorgeous supermodels beating each other in the head with whiffle bats fighting for a chance to touch it.

I expected decent quality for the money, I got it and more. Not a bit of slop in the fit and finish. I look forward to many happy years of using this tool.
