It is a good alternative to using a key, which can be cumbersome. It is pretty intuitive, only takes a few minutes of reading directions and playing around to get working. I am using this for my bike.It comes with a micro-USB drive with an included cord which can be used to charge it. I wish it were USB-C instead of micro-USB. The micro-USB acts as a key, where you can open it with any fingerprint when it is plugged in. It also allows you to record your fingerprint, you hold it down for 5 seconds then press your fingerprint 8 times to record it. After the key is removed, the fingerprint will open it and auto releases the metal lock. It is pretty reliable in identifying my print and opening up. I used my thumb and I don't worry about it not opening, but I keep the key with me in case. The lock battery lasts a while and I don't find it frustrating to use.It also can be connected to an app and then you can record more fingerprints and also control it opening. Setting it manually, it seems you can only record 1 fingerprint. I have not taken the app installation step yet since I do not find it necessary for me and I would rather not have my fingerprints possibly out in the cloud.
