These starters are effortless to light, they start easily with a match. I tried the free included remote starter strings, and they really do work. They are easy to break apart. I am cheap; With just a bit of tinder, you can break them in half and they will work. Grab a small chunk of dry bark and a couple small sticks. I am lazy; Full size they will start one half inch and one inch kindling no problem. I have started fuel sized logs with them, if you add some air flow to keep the flame stoked, like you can in a wood stove using the chimney draft. Do not waste your money on large fire starters meant for desperate conditions, or because you are too lazy to add kindling to your fireplace fuel logs. You want cheap and effective: the least amount of starter that provides the most amount of fire. This product is it.

I’ve been successful only about 20% of the time for these to get the fire started. They do burn for about 10 min or so(15 min is a little exaggerated). They do not work well on Really dense hard wood - smoke and singe edges but don’t have enough power to sustain the starting burn and seem to require a smaller log or other to get the fire burning well.

I use two or three of these to get my BIG GREEN Egg started. It's sometimes tricky to get a corner of the starter lit and then tuck it down in the charcoal without the flame going out. Trial-n-error and you develop a technique that works. Light the first one place it, light the second one off the first one and place it. Arrange charcoal over flames once they get going and in 10-15 mins you should have a good burn ready to cook.

Price wise, you could provably find better but it helps cut down time on lighting a fire. Works great in the fire pit.

First off, they have no bad smell and are easy to light. We played around with the lighting stick that come with the starters, and it worked great! Everything has a natural feel and it's likely we'll order them again.I really like that they don't have chemicals, and get the job done with ease each time we've used them!

Basically condensed sawdust. They aren't bad but they also aren't amazing

1 single square is enough to start a camp fire with finger size branches. Save me from all the fanning blows aggravations

Not the best I've used by far, but quantity for price is great. I'd say these will either be great or horrible depending on how you plan on using them.I normally light my camping fires with a mag rod spark and these won't ever light from something like that. If you're using matches or a lighter than these could definitely help but there's better versions out there. The better ones normally cost a lot more tho...I haven't attempted to light charcoal with these yet, so I don't actually know. Judging from how they work lighting normal fires I don't think they would do a good job lighting charcoal tho.It may not burn as long but I don't find these to work any better than cotton balls and Vaseline, wich you can light with a spark... cost even less aswell. Requires more practice and setup tho! These seam to be just sawdust and beeswax from I can tell, basically "fat wood" but with more natural ingredients. The beeswax will assist in wet environments tho, it will keep the fire starter dry, the method I mentioned earlier is prone to failure in damp environments.
