Avoid splitting from the middle
The wood splitting drill should avoid starting from the middle position to avoid getting stuck.
Start at the edge
Split the small-diameter wood vertically, Not recommended for knotty woods or large diameter hardwoods.
Do not tilt the drill
Pay attention to the speed of your machine,hold it firmly and turn it clockwise
Use it prependicular to the wood fiber
Large pieces of wood must be split multiple times, not too thick in one split.

This items works as advertised but beware that you need a super powerful drill. I tried it with my 10 yr old Dewalt drill 20v batteries and it wouldn't perform. I then used my friends brand new Milwaukee 18v drill and it worked ok. I would say battery powered drills don't work well with this and a corded drill is best. However I was using it at a campsite with no power nearby as we were not in an area with power hookups so relied on generators and solar panels.

Tried on few different wood types. Doesn’t work well for hard woods. Had to chop the bit out when it got stuck

This will pull the log out of your hand and hurt you if your not careful. It also got stuck in the wood more than splitting it.

Definitely not a close substitute for a log splitter. Didn’t work the way I thought it would, but I don’t have a Hilti or Bosch hammer drill to do the job.

Works good taking very small (and dry) logs. Anything slightly big and it will get jammed and it is a bear to get out.

In order for this to really work, your logs needs to be bone dry and already split, cut, halved, sliced - you name it. It does not work like the video, which is a huge bummer. Get yourself a chainsaw instead.

this is a rip off. I was so excited to purchase. It almost burned up my drill. got stuck in the log. did not do any job it was suppose to do. so upset. Did everything it said to do verbatimI tried 4 different size logs. very upset! Do not purchase
