This file is designed specifically for removing rust, and even more specifically for those notches for the brake pad clips in the calipers. It cleans safely inside the right angles of these notches. That’s the one spot where gunk piles up and gives me a hard time on putting back the clips. I have used wire brushes and smaller metal files for the purpose, but this file is hands-down the most effective tool for the job: quick and easy, no scratches on the surface to clean, removes whatever may clog those areas. There are two sides of the file with real rough grain, and two with still rough but a tad finer grain. These are grouped, same grain are adjacent not on opposite sides, so one can chose a rougher or smoother grain for a notch by matching both sides of the right angle. The file can surely be used on any other part, the rough surface of the file easily detaches gunk and rust from hard metal surfaces without digging into the metal surface. The handle is well made, shaped to provide good grip, and the length of the file makes it easy to position once, take one single pass and be done - time saver.

This a practical tool that is very useful for cleaning up caliper brackets.The sides have course and fine sides.The file looks decent, and I am happy with it.

This break caliper file did the trick on a friends rusted bike. At the price, I would say it is worth the money.

粗めの錆がよく取れる＾＾車のホイール内部のブレーキ部分は錆が目立ちどうにかならないかと思っていたらちょうどいい商品を発見したので注文して使ってみましたが、想像以上取れたので満足です。とても良い商品ありがとうございました♪

使用例にある通り、キャリパーホルダーのサビ・汚れ落としに威力を発揮します。細目・粗目の使い分けが可能で、斜めに切られた溝が落とした汚れを掻き出してくれます。ホルダー部のサイズに合わせたサイズで使いやすく、例え細くとも金工用の平ヤスリより効率的です。キャリパーホルダーと似たような形状・サイズの物にも使えそうですが、実際にまだ試してはいないので、汎用性については何とも言えないです。
