Sadly I wasn't able to get this to dispense food predictably to my Koi Pond. Eventually I just returned it. Still looking for a reliable pond feeder as they all seem to have horrid reviews.

I've lost two of these to my local raccoons now, after purchasing to feed our fish in our small trough-pond on the front porch while we go on vacation. The first time, I mounted the until to a plank - the 'coons pulled it off and it fell into the water. The second time, I mounted it to a plank -and- added extra screws so they couldn't pry it off. Nope - this time the ripped the front door and food spool off.Prior to raccoons destroying them, the units worked great. Best NOT to use flakes, though - micro-pellets seemed to work best.

My original purchase was received damaged. My recollection is that that package was damaged, and the feeder itself inside was therefore damaged. That could have happened anywhere in the assignment and delivery process. So, I am not immediately blaming the vendor.A replacement was sent, and sent quickly, which was in good condition.I had to go online for setup instructions. Which is a slight knock against the product. However, once I got all of it down, I was ready to use it.I purchased this to feed an Oscar, along with a silver dollar, two angels, and one gourami, in a 75 gallon tank. I use large cichlid sticks. The short version is, after setting the slide bar to the 17 opening size, it works like a champ. We were absent for 27 days, and our fish were all in perfect health when we returned. And there was still food in the hopper.Other than the lack of proper instructions, the only other drawback is that this has no method of attaching to the side of an aquarium. You cannot simply hang it over the edge of the lid. It won’t be stable. So, I had to construct a stand for it out of left-over lumber. The appearance of my stand is not professional. But, after affixing the mount attachment to an arm of the stand, I made it work. The current price is less than what I purchased it for. So, this product is definitely worth the price.

I really like that this feeder will feed the fish for several days. We set it at the highest amount of food for our koi and it drops food every 18 hours. It doesn't drop the food all at once which is very nice. It's easy to fill and easy to set up. We made a post to hang over the pond when we are out of town to hang the feeder on. When returning home, we notice the fish keep swimming over to the area that the food dropped. My only concern is it may not be enough food. Using two of these timed to maybe 8 hours apart would work great.

Much smaller than it appears to be in the pictures. Easy to set up but watch the videos on YouTube because the instructions included are horrid. Tricky getting the correct setting for the amount of food you want it to drop. The unit only feeds ONCE a day and relies on the food trickling out afterward but it seems all the food drops out at once. I don't like that very much, they should design a new version with two food chambers to assure at least two feedings a day.

This is an easy to assemble (minimal) outdoor fish feeder. It is reliable and sturdy. I had to purchase a second one only because the first one fell into the pond during a storm, and I had only attached the feeder to a pole with twine. Now I use a bungee cord attaching the feeder to a pole. It is the least expensive feeder on the market and does the job. That's the most important thing about it. I didn't want to spend over a hundred dollars for one, when I knew that this one worked perfectly. WIthout a doubt, this is an incredible bargain and a great timed pond fish feeder. Also, the company I bought it from was right on the job. It arrived as promised in perfect working order. Great job!

I was looking for a feeder to dispense small pellets for a medium size water garden/pond with a lot of gold fish. I did a lot of online searching and this was the only feeder that didn't cost a fortune. I had read the reviews which weren't that great but decided to give it a try. When it arrived I was surprised how little feed it would hold. Only enough for a skimpy week of feeding. I set it up indoors to make sure it was set properly. It took almost a week of tweeking the settings until I was satisfied. Set it outside over the pond saw it go through one cycle before leaving on vacation. Returned to find it was still half full of feed! I have it set up again and it seems to be working but I can't trust it.
