So I got this net for my live bearers, it literally just stresses them put and kills them. However that's not what I mean by this net kills. Fish outside the net have the ability to get behind it and they get stuck there overnight and die. I've lost a few fish to this already, I tried moving the net around to different areas of my tank so this wouldn't happen but unfortunately it just killed my banjo catfish. That's my last straw. I'm very upset with this product.

You get what you pay for.The mesh on this box is not as fine as I'd want for baby fry.Unfortunately, my free-swimming angelfish frys quickly got eaten through the mesh.It may look fine, but it's not.The mesh isn't particularly evenly sewn, nor applied to the box, allowing for hidden spots.The suction cups are also lackluster. I ended up pulling them off and upgrading to the larger ones I had.I wouldn't trust these boxes in an adult tank, with frys. They'll get sucked out and escape.But as a separation box, it would be useful.

I really like this net and was excited to be able to save some of the extra bright guppy fry. To my surprise some fry swam right in when I put the net in the tank, they ended up swimming right back out too even when I placed some plants and good in there. So maybe it would work for larger fish?

A solid plastic container was a no because the poop and debris would be trapped in the box and cleaning would impossible. The nylon net seemed perfect, enabling flow of water and circulation. If only the design wasn't so cheap and garbage it would've been perfect. Adult fish sneaking in and fry escaping out is a failure of a design.

First off, there were no instructions but using a small hammer, I was able to push the 4 rods into place. It seemed like a good breeder for baby mollies but it's not; they're very tiny and they all fell thru the slatted bottom and were lying in the mesh. Then my adult fish were attracted to their motion and tried to suck them thru the mesh. I didn't have another breeder so I took a big piece of plastic wrap and put it underneath and up the sides to protect my babies. Had to try and move up the bottom slat so that the babies can swim back up, what a nightmare. Had to order a solid acrylic breeder and hope my babies survive until it gets here. If you want to use this for babies, don't buy this. It's not sturdy or protective enough for tiny baby fishes. I would not recommend this!!!!!

Needed to keep one of my little "Friends" safe and sound until He felt better.... He loved it in there kept swimming back to where it hung in the tank like He was looking for His little apartment....

If you need to separate fish in a pinch, this is for you.Fairly simple to assemble but takes a bit of time.Suction cups aren't super strong but they usually manage.Only problem is if you have anything smaller than guppy fry, such as tetra fry, they will swim right out, rendering this device completely useless. I found out the hard way, though luckily my little guy was smart enough to swim back IN before the adults made a snack of him.

This separation tank arrived without instructions and the box is in a foreign language. It's not complicated but they would have been helpful. The plastic pieces didn't fit together as well as they should have, but I did manage to get it put together. Once it was together, it was not sturdy. I have a betta that is having a swim bladder issue, I want her to be in the tank with my other fish so she isn't alone, but I am worried if I use this, it will fall apart and she will get hurt. I am returning this.
