I have these for both of my downrigger’s with the snap/insulator assembly on the top side of the snubber so that when the electrical connection breaks the water, it stops the downrigger ball just under the surface of the water. This is a very effective and convenient way to operate it. This is a must, an absolute must when you’re using heavier weights. Less wear and tear on your complete system.

Purchased another brand and snapped on third use, lost Downrigger ball. These work great in fact bought another batch.

These are a lot more sturdy than I thought they would be. I fish with an 8 pound ball and have no doubt this would do its job and save my expensive gear from a snag.
