This is a sturdy net, the telescopic feature is great for those ledges you fish off. Definitely will help eliminate falling in the water (like I have) to claim your catch. Even when extended it seems pretty stable. My only issue is the rubber grips. First time extending it the grip slipped off, so be careful of that or you’ll lose your net!

I got this landing net for salt water kayak fishing for red drum, trout, and flounder. It's a good length for kayak fishing, and the adjustable length gives me some flexibility. I do think this would be a bit short for using in a real boat. The stow size is what makes this great for the kayak. Folded up I can basically stow it under one of me legs. Deploying the net is easy but does seem to require two hands. Stowing the net definitely requires two hands. The hinge mechanism is made of fiber-reinforced plastic and seems sturdy enough. I'm sure there are stronger designs out there but this hinge seems sufficient at this price. The shaft is made of extruded aluminum with a blue anodized coating. Feels very stout and should hold up well in salt water. I didn't test it but I imagine the net would float for at least a few minutes given that the shafts are hollow. If the shaft fills with water it may sink. I have only used it a few times so far but did manage to land a 25" red drum with it. Overall pretty pleased with it.

built descent, don't know how it will handle a larger fish but I like it, the fish I get should fit easy tho LOL

I love this product. I have very large tropical fish that I needed to move. The net is quite large & made of a soft material so as not to damage the fish. The ability to fold it easily allows for storage under my tank. Really well made product.
