I got on fossil digs in freshwater rivers every so often as part of my research/job. Usually, I just get wet and then change my clothes. For my upcoming trip, however, I’ve decided to use waders instead to try to keep my legs and feet dry throughout the day. The digs can mean being in water for up to 5-6 hours at a time. These fit well around my waist and legs. They fit over a pair of pants and water socks. They feel comfortable and waterproof. The boots are too big, but I don’t mind this because I can easily fit my feet with shoes inside. The boots are pretty heavyweight but not uncomfortably so.
