All the parts were not thrre in particular a washer which must have insulation properties. Pick up works until securing to centre screw as per instructions. Pickup is shorting out.

Quality pickup for sure. I bought this for my Loar and even thought the base of this pickup was slightly mor curved than the mandolin body, I was able to marry the original base with the fishman saddle and it worked great. Highly recommended with a nice mic blend for live performances. I run it directly to a fishman loudbox mini on both channels, one for the pickup and I use a 57 for the mic. Easy peasy! Can’t go wrong with fishman!

excellent sound when paired with the right preamp. be aware that you need to cut your own grooves for the strings. also a bit of adhesive tape on the output jack clamp helps it stay firmly in place.

I bought this product sometime ago. I have been fighting e.q. problems ever since! Way way too much treble. Bought a graphic equalizer stompbox that helped. I've heard that the K&K has a much more natural sound; but I will probably go to some kind of lace sensor and get away from feedbackproblems for good. Have a Republic single cone biscut. Amazing guitar and an amazing company to do bidness with. Frank is the bomb!!!

Easy installation and great tone. I put it on a 1914 Gibson F2 and it sounds incredible without compromising the integrity of the instrument.

The ebony bridge is high quality and the pick up sound is excellent, even when played directly through an acoustic amp, The clamping arrangement appears to be designed for flat bodies. Mine is a carved top and back 'A' style mandolin which this clamp does not fit securely, causing the socket to fall off during its first outing. If you are gigging professionally this is a real show stopper and could snap the the fine connecting lead. I suggest using strips of double sided tape under the clamping surfaces to give better grip. The supplied bridge must be sanded to fit a carved top hence the good advice from Fishman to have it fitted by a professional. You can do this yourself by taping sandpaper to the top of your mando and carefully honing the bridge into shape. Check out Youtube for tips on doing this. If you are in ANY DOUBT get an expert to do it for you.

In addition to permitting me to plug in when playing out, the bridge noticeably enhanced the sound of my Eastman M-550. It was necessary to fit the bridge to the mandolin by placing fine grade sandpaper over the carved top and slowly working the base of the bridge in small movements until the legs were flush with the surface. Acoustically I now have respectable mid-range and low end while the brilliant highs were retained. When plugged in, the amplitude is reasonably flat across the spectrum and the tone is somewhat woody. The amplified sound improves by running through a pre-amp and wet tuning the mandolin.

This pickup provides a clean, natural sound. Good, strong signal. I was able to obtain the exact sound I wanted just by tweaking the eq on my amp. One thing to know: Go straight to the Fishman website for the installation instructions because there are no instructions in the package. It was really easy, and I have only minimal woodworking skills.I would suggest to Fishman to include a flanged screw- on strap holder for the end of the jack that sticks out of the guitar.

I found someone able to install the pickup. He explained that I would need a graphic EQ to shape the tone, as it is pretty raw. The cone arrangement produces some pretty complex waves. I ended up buying a Fishman ProEQPlatinum because it has graphic EQ sliders. The whole process of finding the pickup and getting it installed was a little harrowing, but since I was told at the start that it couldn't be done, I knew there was some risk. I haven't played this instrument publicly through a PA yet, but it's nice knowing it could be amplified. BTW, the guitar pictured here on the amazon page looks identical to my Regal resonator. The pickup appears to do as advertised. I think the trick is getting it installed perfectly... not something I was willing to try to perform myself.

I have never installed something like this before but let me tell you, I wish I had done this years ago! The sounds are pure, the installation was easy, and I didn't drill holes in my guitar! All you have to do is mount it using one of the holes in the "F" holes. Also, be sure to place the little plastic washer between the cone and the pickup during installation or it won't work, and there's nothing in the instructions to tell you to do this. This is a simple and great pickup for a single cone national guitar!

I saved up for this pickup after using a cheap and cheerful one for several months. Couldn't knock the cheap one as it was good enough to play the gigs that paid for this pickup. The difference is undeniable however. This pickup produces a beautiful, natural sound of amazing quality. The build quality is fantastic. I managed to fit it myself without a great deal of hassle using online guides. In short, I love my Fishman pickup!PROS:-Excellent, professional sound-Strong and well constructed-Possible to fit yourselfCONS:-None!In summary, you get what you pay for, and I won't look back after paying for this high quality professional pick up.

If you plan to just run this direct into a mixer or acoustic amp, it is going to sound terrible and un-mandolin-like. In our jolly band of multi-instrumentalists, we've been using the (100x better-sounding) LR Baggs Radius on the mandolin, but having heaps of difficulty with getting enough volume before feedback. I mean it's comical how much trouble that Radius has given us. It's a great sounding pickup, but completely useless unless you're playing in a listening room, and at that point you could just use a microphone. So we bought the M-200, and plugged direct it sounds flat out bad. Mind you, this is an absolutely sick mandolin (Jade) -> Yamaha 01V mixer -> Bose L1s and run by one of the best sound men I've ever met. With a pile of EQ, there was some usable tone that might satisfy ordinary people, but it didn't really sound like a mandolin sounds.BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUT BUTIf you run this pickup into one of Fishman's Aura pedals (we have two of the 1st generation) on its way to the board, you get the best of all possible worlds: a tone that sounds very much like a mandolin, with enough volume to rip over any loud electric band. I cannot explain to you how much this improves our entire show.So pickup on its own: 1.5 stars. Pickup into Aura into PA: 17.284 starsBuy this pickup, and then buy this thing, it rocks:
