I was so dubious that anything that looked like a micro pizza wheel could cut through fabric, paper or even cardboard but I have now seen the light! I know the brand Fiskars very well as I have owned their fabulous paper cutter for many years. I unwrapped it, took 2 seconds to figure out how to click down the blade protector circular edge guard (genius design that works flawlessly) and proceeded to cut cleanly through the cardboard part of wrapping it came in. This can be used freehand or against a straight edge to glide through fabric, paper, plastic or cardboard. For a newbie like me, the differentiation when compared against the cutting utility of scissors or a box cutter is that you have to lay down whatever you’re cutting against a hard surface (like a cutting board) as it requires even pressure against a flat surface. Straight line or curvy, this is going to be a lot of fun!

Perfect for cutting straight lines on fabric. Requires very little down pressure. Blade seems very sharp and has an easy to use safety guard for when the cutter is not in use

It's difficult to cut fabrics with this, as the blade is not as sharp as I was hoping. Does work for those nice crisp cuts if you're willing to put down the extra pressure though.

Love this small rotary cutter. It is great for fussy cutting small projects. Now I use it for all of my cutting even cutting yards of fabric and long strips. I find it much easier to handle.

I do some art using paper and need something that will not tear the paper as some pieces are pretty thin in width. This works perfect for my needs. It cuts a thinner line as the blade itself is thinner. It depends on what you need it for whether this will work for your needs. I would not expect it to work as well with thicker or bulky items and if it does the blade will dull out quickly. I am glad I found this.

This small rotary cutter works great for single layers of cutting. Harder to use of you have two or more layers. Goes around corners great. Very easy to use and love the guard it has for the blade.
