The Flambeau Outdoors 40" Rifle Hard Case provides a convenient and secure way to store your gun. The case has an interior convoluted foam lining that keeps the weapon inside protected. The case is equipped with storage accessories inside to keep all of your gear organized. Includes 10" x 13" storage dividers infused with anti-corrosion Zerust technology and Velcro straps for securing gun and accessories inside. Made with Zerust dividers. Zerust products are made with a proprietary chemical formulation that is invisible, odorless, non-toxic, non-reactive, non-flammable and non-allergenic. This chemical formulation releases a vapor that diffuses throughout an enclosure made with Zerust VCI materials and settles on exposed metal surfaces to form a microscopic corrosion inhibiting layer.

Bastante amplio y las correas son muy funcionales para evitar que se muevan

I am returning this case because it is far larger than my needs, which I feel badly about. My disappointment is doubled because it is a very well made case and inexpensive. I should have looked at the dimensions more carefully. On the other hand it is a 5 Star case for someone else with greater space needs than my own. It has two locking holes at the handle which is a lot better than 4 locking holes on the handle side like other cases I have. It has 4 easy to use snap fasteners. If traveling on an aircraft and you need room for an AR with scope, ammo, and other stuff this might be the case for you. This also makes for a great safe storage case out of the reach of children.Amazon used to carry cases that were more like >40-38" x 8" x 4", but I can't find them. Smaller cases are better for me because I put them into a large duffle bag. It is only common sense to not advertise the carrying of a fire arm and have it snatched at the airport. A smaller case also makes sense if carrying the shorter carbines or take down rifles. TSA sometimes gets annoyed at the duffle bag when they inspect it, but if people cannot see it ....they don't get strange thoughts. It also avoids some baggage handler getting ideas as well.

I recently purchased an AR and needed a case for it to go to the range and back. I like the idea of a hard case and having "compartments" to hold magazines, optics, maybe ammo, and what not. I wasn't concerned so much about strapping the gun in to the case since I would be the one handling it, or maybe I just trust the foam isolates any movement more than I should. Nevertheless, I installed the velcro straps for the gun, and put the remaining two straps in one of the compartments to hold my 2x red dot. I cannot complain for the price as this is much cheaper than most other options out there, but here are the cons I came up with.1) only 4 straps are included. So you essentially get 2 for the firearm, and 1 for two compartments, or like I did 2 for one compartment. Not a huge deal and will great for what I need, but having the option to use more straps in other compartments would have been nice.2) I was lucky enough to keep track of the screws when installing the compartment dividers and straps. You only get just what you need to install them, so don't lose one of those little screws.3) I read a review before purchasing about only have 1 set of places to screw the straps for the firearm. Like I mentioned above, I didn't care a lot about this so it didn't stop me from purchasing. I will end up using the straps in that default location because it works for my AR - though it might not work for everyone. Having multiple locations would be ideal to make this a true universal case4) The plastic case will crack if you drop a cinder block falling from a foot above it and don't have any foam inside. Have I proved this? Of course not. The short here is that the plastic casing isn't made like a pelican box. However for my needs and with only me or someone I know handling it, and with the dense foam inside, I am not worried about it. I also didn't spend pelican money on this, so you should expect it won't be the same material. After all of these cons, the pros still easily outweigh them for my use. Is it right for you? What are your expectations? Again, for my purpose this is exactly what I was looking for and I expect it to last the life of the firearm. I will tell you that you won't find one like it in this price range. So if this is your budget, and you aren't expecting to put it thru baggage at an airport, just buy it already.

Fantastic product quality and overall value, considering the price paid. This was meant to house a rifle-length AR-15 with an RDS, and this is the perfect size. Although I have not separated or compartmentalized the foam inside, it is nice to know that I can do so, especially in the event that I change to a different rifle system; perhaps something with a carbine-length gas system. I highly recommend this case for storage and transport purposes, and to ensure compliance with Canada’s rules and regulations for restricted firearms.

The case seems well built with hinges that appear to be capable of years of openings.Although I probably won't be using them the dividers are a great idea and make the most of available space. The sponge inserts are thick and I'm happy with the level of protection they afford my rifle.I'm not using the supplied velcro straps as the gun is being held in the case quite securely. The case is held shut by four plastic latches which seem sturdy enough to me. Although these are not lockable the case can be secured by passing two padlocks through the parts of the case (the eyes if you like) you can see under the carrying handle. The gun (a 110 carbine) is fitted with a 'big wheel" on the sight focusing ring and that together with the bipod meant a search for a case big enough and deep enough to accommodate the outfit. This case does the job but because of the width of the rifle there is a small gap between the two halves just under the carrying handles when case is closed. It's possible that this will close in time as the sponge linings settle but I don't really think of this as a problem and it's certainly not unsightly. Alltogether, and considering the price, I'm pleased with this case. I expect to need another in the near future and will have no hesitation in buying the same.Very comfortable in recommending this Flambeau rifle case.

I like the fact that I'm able to leave my scope on my rifles. I even have a red dot scope mounted on top of my main scope and it fits in the case. It is also a plus to have the mounting straps and dividers. I have several different cases that cost triple this amount and does not offer all the extras that I need . Yeah it's construction is not as thick and as sturdy as my other cases but it will protect and transport my rifles none the less. This is a great case for rifles with scopes . It has so much room that you can hold two carbines style rifles. I will purchase more of these cases because all the features it has to offer at a great price. I highly recommend this case

Updated review after 6 years of use. I'm a Grandmaster classified Steel Challenge shooter, and as such I open and close this case on an almost daily basis because it holds my competition rifle (see photo), which I dry fire practice on almost daily. This is a very good hard case for the price with solid clasps and the ability to padlock it shut in multiple spots. Nice internal design with compartments and straps. I use this mainly for storage at home (I keep my competition guns separated from the home defense guns) and choose to use a soft case (with pockets for additional gear, spare parts, etc.) for transportation and competition use, but if I were a less hardcore shooter, this would be fine to use for transport. I did downgrade it one star because the plastic piano-hinge came undone once for an unknown reason, but with some elbow grease I was able to reassemble it, and it’s held since without coming undone after several more years of use.
