I found an old classical guitar in our attic....nothing to write home about but the tuning pegs were especially gummed up and grnarly...replacing them was super easy. As these slod right into place and all the screw holes lined up perfectly. Excited to goof around with this guitar more now that I can actually tune the thing!

These beautiful gold toned tuners installed with perfect fit and, with the lyre figure at the top, look very classy! The 14:1 ratio allows for accurate tuning and very smooth winding. I am impressed with the tension control, the accuracy, the ease of installation and the very upscale appearance of these tuners. Delivery was early and they were well packaged. I highly recommend this Gotoh set for any guitarist who wants an attractive upgrade!

I purchaced a used Yamaha CG-100A classical guitar for a song on Craigslist, but it had been unplayed for 20 years. Stock tuners had seen beter days, wobbly, creaky, not keeping new strings in tune.Read a few Classical guitar forums, and the reviews here, so went with these budget Gotoh 35G420 tuners. Install was flawless on the Yamaha CG-100A as the screw holes lined up exactly. Easy as pie upgrade! Holding tune thus far! Pretty, not $200 slick, but they certainly dressed up this student model guitar and I like the lyre look. Took about 10 min. to install, slowly screwing them in and adjsuting tension slowly. Solid.If you have an older/troublesome student classical in need of new tuners, go for these. Better off with a name brand then saving $10 on something thats not as well regarded as the Gotoh brand.

My friend has a really old classical guitar that he played a lot.He tried to play it again, but one tuner froze so it sat for years.I took a look at it and bought these Gotoh tuners.They dropped right in and came with the screws too.Nice shiny gold finish and smooth tuners.My friend was so happy he could play his favorite guitar again.Good price too.

The only reason for 4 not 5 stars is even though the machine works fine. It seem to me it could be a tad more robust. Especially on the low E string the tuner mechanism seem to be straining a bit. Glad these were nylon strings. Manufacturing and tolerance of all parts are good. The fit is excellent. I had no problem drilling the holes precisely using a standard dowel jig as a guide for drill bit guide and then installing and fit. A little tool skill needed. Or maybe I just got lucky the tuner fit to the holes.

I've tried a few of the inexpensive classical tuners. The $12 sets I have tried for inexpensive guitars are really very poor in my experience. Not smooth. Not well made. Buy the least expensive tuners from a company that makes expensive tuners. You'll spend $25 instead of $12 and be much more satisfied.Purchased from AmplifiedParts. Excellent quality. Delivered from 2500 miles away in two days in an honest to goodness cardboard shipping box! These tuners are Genuine Gotoh tuners. The specific Gotoh part number for these is 35G420. They arrived in retail packaging. They are 14:1 gear ratio. The Amazon listing describes these as "antique gold" which led me to believe that they would be a bit more "antique" than they actually are. The package describes the finish as "Semi Gold" which I would describe simply as "gold" but the finish is less garish and cheap-looking than your typical inexpensive gold tuners. These were a bit more than the least expensive gold tuners for classical guitars, but their appearance is superior, and I would assume their function is, as well (since I have yet to install them). FINALLY, THE SMALL GOLD SCREWS NEEDED FOR INSTALLATION ARE PROVIDED IN A SMALL PLASTIC BAG. Most of the "parts bin" tuners don't come with these. These tuners are a great balance of quality versus purchase price.If you want a set without the LYRE or LYRA decoration at the top, I can also recommend Golden Gate F-2110 which I have bought. These are simply well made. They are attractive. Don't look too cheap. Operate very smoothly.
