"Water Booster SystemThe Flojet 2840 Series Booster Systems are designed to provide a constant water pressure of 0 to 40 psi (0.7 to 2.7 bar) and a maximum flow rate of 4.5 gpm at 10 psi (0.7 bar). The pump is fully automatic with built in inlet strainer pressure switch and check valve and supplies smooth flow from tricke to full flow. Typical uses include applications where available water pressure is very low and fluctuates widely. Easy installation requires only that the water lines be connected and the power cord plugged in.Features:Integrated pump and tank systemMay be mounted vertically or horizontallyFlow rates up to 4.5 US Gallons/min. Product came all scratched up on the tankVery frustrating & disappointing for the price of this unitWould expect that someone would have done some kind of quality control as you opened the box and the damage was clearly visible so it would be hard to believe they didn’t see that when packagingHope it works now as it just looks like it is a surface issue

This thing is junk. It lasted about a month and now it will not kick off unless my tanks are completely full. It worked great for a few weeks. Now its just limping along and will not even build pressure if I have less than 50 gallons in my fresh tank. I can carry 200 gallons and the pump is mounted about 6 inches above the tank.

Exactly what I needed to replace the unit that is 20 years old.

Worked as advertised. I was replacing the exact model due to a freeze failure. This arrived and plugged directly in with no issues whatsoever. It has performed perfectly since I purchased it.

The pump was represented as having damaged packaging but no damage to the actual pump itself. The pump was damaged. The plastic cover over the electrical connections was broken. This does not affect the operation of the pump. The delivery was on time and the pump works as expected.

Purchased this pump and booster combo to replace a rusted out Jabsco in my Silverton 410. I thought a 1 gpm upgrade with a sizable expansion tank would be a good thing. Installation was simple enough. Two wire connectors, four SS wood screws, and some pipe fittings, (not included). However, since installation, I've been trying to correct the pump from rapid cycling after its pressurization phase. I've bled the system and calibrated the pressure in the expansion tank per the instructions multiple times. The inline filter screen always seems to have a bubble in it. I'm not sure if the pump is too strong for the 1/2" tank outlet causing the pump to suck air into the system through some type of venturi effect. The pump is mounted below the tank and the tank outlet feeds from the bottom (not a suction pick up). I thought this would never let the pump go thirsty. But, then I have to ask why does this air pocket keep reappear in the strainer?I fear that the pump is going to give up the ghost before I can figure this out. Support through Flojet is non existent. I've called all the US numbers I can find only to get left on hold or transferred into oblivion. Forums and marina friends can only guess. It seems like such a simple system. Not sure what to do at this point. I'm going to try to expand the tank outlet to 3/4" and run that into the pump. If that succeeds, I'll update this review.Only two other things I'd question on this pump is: the choice of reinforced pvc hose between the pump and expansion tank. Second, why would you use a yellow brass tee fitting on the expansion tank. This is usually a bad choice in any marine application. Bronze yes, but brass- why take chances? A busted line or fitting can sink your boat if you happen to forget to turn off the dock water water one weekend. Also, I'd advise figuring out a better way to isolate the mounting frame to keep noise down. Not the quietest pump I've been around.UPDATE: After tapping a new fitting into my water tanks using a "Uniseal" (fantastic piece of hardware by the way), the pump is still blurb cycling after pressurization and the air bubble in the strainer is still very present. And I think the pump wear is starting to show as the motor stuck on a dead spot and I had to tap the housing a couple times to get it going again. This has only happened once but I'm sure it's a sign of the pump's early demise.I've started playing with the adjustment screw on the pressure regulator to see if I'll get lucky and fix it that way. So far it's just varying the pressure in the lines as one would expect. Next I'm planning to re-plum the pump to a horizontal position and adding in check valves to correct any possible pipe hammer causing the blurb cycling. After that, I'm going to give up on this one. Mike from the Lifesaport live-aboard blogSecond Update: I re-plumbed the pump to a horizontal position with modifications. I removed the pressure tank. Which stinks because that is why I purchased this set up. I added a 5 gallon pressure tank with a check valve between the pump and the pressure tank. Fixed! No more burb cycling.

What a difference this pump made in my camper. I purchased a 5th wheel and will primarily be using it for dry camping at outdoor events. The pump that was in the RV provided adequate pressure, but not having an accumulator means it ran continuously, or nearly so, during showering or using the sink. Occasionally when running hot water it would generate terrible "water hammer" where the pump would bang the pipes and it would resonate through the entire RV. The FloJet 0284-100A fixes all those things. The water will now run for quite a bit before the pump comes on. Depending on the fixture used from 20-30 seconds of water is available before the pump even engages. The large stable base helps to isolate sound from the pump and vibration noise in the pipes is minimal. It's certainly not "silent" when it's running, but it's not intrusive either. Being able to rinse something or fill the toilet without the pump kicking on is a huge benefit, and when the water is being provided from the accumulator it's silent. The accumulator smooths out the water flow as well. There is no more surging pressure as the pump cycles on and off. The water flows smooth and steady now. The accumulator on the unit I received was white, not blue, but everything else was exactly as described. If you need different connectors than the the barbed fittings included JetFlo sell a wide variety of fittings under the "Quad Port" name. You will only need these on the intake side. The output side has a brass threaded fitting and the pump comes with a standard threaded connector and a barbed connector for the output side. The only thing not included is the hose to go between the pump and strainer if you choose to use the included strainer. If you do use the included strainer then you'll be forced to use that barbed connector, unfortunately it's not an easy to swap quad port. Keep in mind as you shop, the accumulator on this unit is 1.1 gallons. The $50 accumulators you can find to add to your existing pump are 24oz., the tank on the JetFlo has more than 5 times the capacity.
