We love our tank! I like that I can leave the lid off and it still looks super slick with that lidless look. My Beta LOVES it!

This tank is awesome! It is sleek and stylish! I have it on my counter in the kitchen and it is so beautiful! I have a betta and 2 mystery snails in it and they are loving their new home. I had them in a 1 gallon jar while I waited for this tank to arrive and they are all happy, active, and exploring their new home. I did the modification that was recommended for bettas and it worked like a charm. I added a pre-filter sponge to baffle the water flow even after putting the pump on the lowest water flow setting as bettas don’t like a strong current. The pump is almost silent. I have live plants and the L.E.D. lights are strong enough to support their growth. I like that there is a night time lighting setting. I love the lid. There is enough room for feeding and it keeps curious kitty hands out. The filter system is easy to use. Setting up the tank was fast and easy. I definitely recommend this tank to everyone! Fluval makes good quality tanks.

Beautiful tank

I want to start off by saying I love this tank. It is absolutely beautiful and suits my needs perfectly. Except for two little changes you'll need to make if you want to keep a betta in here.1. The flow from the filter is too strong for a betta. To fix this, put a pre-filter sponge over the water exit (I use a twist tie to keep it from falling off, just make sure your fish can't snag itself on the tie). It makes the flow perfect for bettas. The Fluval Edge sponge is a great one.2. Some bettas like to rest against the filter intake. Mine is one of them. It doesn't seem to hurt them (they actually enjoy it, the little weirdos), but it can potentially harm their fins if they get caught. So to prevent this, put a plastic mesh screen over the intake and secure it with zip ties or twist ties. This keeps the water flowing while also allowing your fishy friend to get whatever weird enjoyment they want from the filter. Again, watch out for sharp edges as you'll need to cut the mesh to size (sanding it down is a good idea). And there you go! The two simple and inexpensive changes you'll need to make to this tank to have a beautiful and perfect betta tank!

It's a pretty little tank, especially for the price! It's about the smallest size you should consider - and even that with the understanding that keeping such a small tank in good shape takes some determination, knowledge, and above all, restraint in choosing your fish. Its elongated shape means that with plants thrown in, it can house some of the smaller schooling fish (say, certain Danios or Tetras) while still giving them some room to swim. It is also a good home for small bottom-feeders, such as Otocinclus or some shrimp. It's probably a good home for a Betta, too. Beyond that, your choices would be limited. The sleek styling is nothing to sneeze at, and the tank is also equipped with a fairly decent and quiet filter, neatly tucked away behind frosted glass, with enough room to also conceal a small heater. This keeps the main tank free of distractions, and means no external equipment to hook up The filter intake is a narrow slit in a wall that separates the main tank from the filter, and can be easily obscured by debris (say, plant matter). The outlet nozzle is fairly powerful, even on the lowest setting - so you will probably need to modify it by installing a foam diffuser for more delicate fish. The filter itself does the job, but make no mistake: it's fairly small and simple, and it will probably struggle with heavy fish loads. What else? The light looks great and is pretty bright, with a touchpad to cycle between three modes: cool daylight white, night light (several blue LEDs), and off. As with any suspended light, you're trading some utility for good looks; the lights reflect from the surface of the water and from the cover, which can be mildly annoying. But that's life. The tank also comes with a (somewhat flimsy) cover to limit evaporation and prevent fish from jumping out (unless they aim for a sizeable center opening). The cover won't really stop an inquisitive cat and is knocked over easily. But again, for less than $100, you can't do much better than that.
