I use these on my paint and primer one gallon cans. When done clean up easily with thinner. Store in drawer for next time.

I don't understand why these lids are hard to find when everyone should want them for painting. Is it easy to pour only amount of paint you need. It keeps the paint fresh. You need to be mindful to wipe the lids before the screw cap is applied to avoid any paint drying inside the cap then falling into your can as a clump....easy to do/avoid.

I could not find this in a big box store. I had A similar device for many years until it broke. Great for painting out of the can without making a mess.

These days most 1 gallon paint, varnish, etc. cans come with plastic lids. For some reason the top of the can is slightly larger diameter than traditional cans with metal lids. This lid/pouring spout diameter is too small to properly fit the cans with plastic lids.Interestingly, the other type of spout that fits all the way around the inside of the can opening is too small for cans with plastic lids. I can't imagine what logic the can manufacturers used to chose to make the cans with larger outside and inside diameters than traditional cans.Another brand had the same issue. The only spouts that seem to work on the gallon plastic lid cans are those that are made for multiple can sizes that clip to the inside rim but don't go completely around.FYI, I found the same item on Ace Hardware for less.

I'm giving this 3 stars because I think its a great idea to solve the spill problem when pouring paint from the 1 gallon can. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find that it did not fit my one-gallon can of paint because it has the plastic lid. It is too large for the plastic paint can lids and will not snap on. I think it would work ok on the metal lid cans.

Used this with some high build primer (urethane) and while it did work and poured nice, it was impossible to clean it after use. I was hoping to be able to clean it and use on other cans, but it would have been too much work, so I just used the simple paint can tape trick/hack to pour without mess.
