I bought this for my daughter to practice with. I was very skeptical, but it works much better than I expected to help her work on her aim, whether serving or just volleying. As an older dad, it also helps me by giving me a rest while she continues to work on her skills. You can place it anywhere on the net, and it stays up on its own with no issues. Multiple players can also use from either side of the net, so I imagine it could be useful for helping players work on forehand and backhand or serves. I'd buy one again.
