For the price, this is a fine stand. It's really not meant to travel with the sax, but as a stable stand for at home, it's good value.

I needed a small, cheap stand that I would not use very much, for an instrument I don't play often. This was it. If you will be using this every day, I would recommend you go to a more sturdy stand because saving $20 isn't good when your instrument falls over.This stand is very beefy in the metal department, but putting an instrument on it makes the center of gravity such that I wouldn't leave the instrument unattended. Also, you will need to know two things: 1) there is no Allen wrench included for you to tighten the lower supporting bracket, so you'll have to get that. 2) On the VERY first use, when I wasn't even putting an instrument on it, the elastic part that stretches around the bell of the instrument to hold it decided to break - snap clean in two. A trip to the hardware store for some replacement items that would be a bit sturdier solved that problem. Again, you get what you pay for so please don't expect KM or Blayman quality from this stand.If you need something to hold your alto for the one time per year that you double on it, then this is your guy with the above caveats.

Great for taking a break from practicing without wabting to put your whole instrument away. Small footprint in my one bedroom apartment. Im not sure what the rubber strap is really for as its pretty stiff so doesnt fit around my instrument. Otherwise, great purchase
